Opportunities

Applied Epic opportunities represent business that you seek to acquire or retain. You can use them to manage your sales processes for both new and renewal business. You can create, edit, and review Epic opportunities for individual contacts directly from Marketing Automation.

The Epic opportunity options are only visible and accessible by users with the corresponding Applied Epic permissions when the following minimum requirements are met:

Note: Applied Epic creates a system-generated activity for each opportunity you create in Marketing Automation if you have configured it to do so. By default, these activities use the @MOI activity code.

Create Epic Opportunity

When you create an opportunity, only options that are valid for the contact in Epic are available for selection. For example, you can only select valid structure combinations associated to the contact. All dropdown menus populate with the options your organization has configured in Epic.

Marketing Automation does not check for opportunities already created for the contact in Epic, so you may want to check to make sure you are not creating a duplicate opportunity, particularly if other users also work with the contact.

  1. Click Campaigns or Reports and Metrics in the navigation menu. If necessary, you can sort or use the filters to help you locate a campaign in the list. The filter options vary, depending on whether you access the Campaigns page or the Reports and Metrics page.
  2. Locate the campaign in the list or click the chevron  beside the Campaign Name to display a recurring campaign's editions. Then click the Recipients, Open Rate, Click Rate, or Bounce Rate link to open the corresponding pop-up window.
    Note: You can also access the Individual Report for a standard or pre-built campaign and click the Unique Email Opens, Unique Clicks, or Content Metrics link to open the corresponding pop-up window.
  3. In the pop-up window, locate the contact in the list and click the Create Epic Opportunity link.
  4. Complete all required fields:
    1. Enter a Description that clearly identifies the opportunity and distinguishes it from others.
    2. Select an Agency and Branch association.
    3. Select a Stage Group and Stage.
    4. Select a Business Type.
  5. If necessary, complete the optional fields:
  6. When you are finished entering information, click the Save button.
    Click the Close button to discard the opportunity without saving.

Edit an Epic Opportunity

When you edit an opportunity, only options that are valid for the contact in Epic are available for selection. For example, you can only select a Stage that is valid for the selected Stage Group and the selected contact. All dropdown menus populate with the options your organization has configured in Epic.

  1. Click Campaigns or Reports and Metrics in the navigation menu. If necessary, you can sort or use the filters to help you locate a campaign in the list. The filter options vary, depending on whether you access the Campaigns page or the Reports and Metrics page.
  2. Locate the campaign in the list or click the chevron  beside the Campaign Name to display a recurring campaign's editions. Then click the Recipients, Open Rate, Click Rate, or Bounce Rate link to open the corresponding pop-up window.

  3. In the pop-up window, locate the contact in the list and click the Review Epic Opportunity link.

  6. When you are finish editing the opportunity, click the Save button.
    Click the Close button to discard your changes without saving.

Review Epic Opportunity

You can only view the details of opportunities created from Marketing Automation.

  3. In the pop-up window, locate the contact in the list and click the Review Epic Opportunity link.
  4. When you are finished reviewing the opportunity, click the Close button.
