Undeliverable Emails Report

To reduce the risk of bounced emails, Marketing Automation validates each email address before attempting to send to it. Any email addresses that fail this validation (“high-risk” addresses or those with a status of “undeliverable” or “Do Not Send”) are added to the Undeliverable Emails Report and excluded from campaigns and one-off emails. Preventing bounces helps you maintain your domain’s reputation and ensure that emails reach their intended recipients.

The report lists each contact to whom email cannot be delivered and the reason for the failure. It filters client contacts to display only those you have access to in Applied Epic. Click on the Reason for Failure for a specific contact to view a detailed explanation. Click the tooltip icon in the header to view a list of all possible reasons. You can use this information to reach out to these contacts using another method and update their email addresses in Applied Epic.

Please note that if you update an email address in Epic, the contact will not be removed from the Undeliverable Email Report until the system has revalidated the contact’s email address. To prompt this revalidation, access contact detail from a search or a list, or send a campaign to a list that includes the contact. To maintain accurate information about the quality of the contact information in your system, Marketing Automation revalidates every email address annually after its initial validation.

Because email addresses on the Undeliverable Emails Report are automatically excluded from campaigns, they are not reflected in campaign metrics in the Reports and Metrics area.
