The Reports and Metrics area enables you to view detailed report information about each sent campaign that you have permission to access. These campaigns display clickable metrics directly in the list. Click on a specific campaign or edition to view an Individual Report for it. This information can help you identify the recipients who opened a campaign email or clicked on content, or recipients to whom the email could not be delivered. You can use these key performance indicators and reports to help you maintain accurate contact information and refine your marketing strategies and goals.
The Undeliverable Emails Report identifies email addresses that the system has determined to be invalid, to which Marketing Automation does not attempt to send email.
The Reports and Metrics page displays the following metrics in the list for each sent campaign:
The percentages are unique counts, not aggregate totals (that is, each metric is counted only once per recipient). If you open an Individual Report, these percentages display in the left column and aggregate metrics display in the right column.
Click on any number or percentage to display the contacts’ names and email addresses in a pop-up window. You can only view contacts that you have access to in Applied Epic. Click on a Contact Name to open their Contact Detail in a new tab, where you can review their information and update their Marketing Preferences if needed. The Marketing Preferences and Consent History sections do not apply to employees.
You can use this information to update contact information in Applied Epic (for example, if an email bounced because a contact’s email address contained a typo), or to target recipients for follow-up based on engagement. If you sent content about a legislative update that affects certain clients’ businesses, for example, you can use the Open Rate and Click Rate percentages for the campaign to identify the recipients who opened the email and accessed the content, then follow up with any who did not.
While the Campaigns list metrics provide an overview of each campaign, you can view detailed metrics in a campaign or edition’s Individual Report. This report gives you a quick view of the content sent in the campaign and allows you to export all metrics to a CSV file. The contacts that make up the metric totals vary depending on the contacts you have access to in Applied Epic, but your access does not affect the campaign totals.
The Open Rate, Click Rate, and Bounce Rate percentages in the left column are unique counts (that is, each metric is counted only once per recipient. Aggregate (total) percentages display in the right column. You can also view and export details for a specific metric from its popup window.
Click on a Contact Name in the popup window to open their Contact Detail in a new tab, where you can review their information and update their Marketing Preferences if needed. The Marketing Preferences and Consent History sections do not apply to employees.
You can export comprehensive metrics for a campaign, or just its Open Rate, Click Rate, Bounce Rate, or Unsubscribe metric. If you have selected a parent campaign, the comprehensive metrics include all of its editions. Select a specific edition from the Campaigns list if you want to export comprehensive metrics for that edition only.
You can bulk exclude all contacts whose emails bounced on a sent campaign or edition from the lists used on that campaign to ensure that you do not send additional campaign emails to them until you have resolved the reasons for the bounces. Contacts excluded this way display Previously Bounced as the exclusion Reason. You cannot undo this action; to include the contacts again, you must navigate to the dynamic or manual list and select them individually.
To view the content included in a campaign from the Individual Report page, click the Campaign Name (or edition) in the list to open the Individual Report. Then click the link beside Content.
Content metrics show you click details and the duration of content views.
Content viewing time metrics are only available for Applied-hosted content
included in a campaign (including both Applied's content from the Content Library and content that
your organization has uploaded to the My
Content area without defining an external URL for the Read
More Link). Click the Content
Metrics link in the Click Rate
frame to view the metrics in a pop-up window. A My
Content icon indicates content pieces
that your organization has uploaded to My
