Cert Attachments

The Cert Attachments area enables you to manage the PDF attachments that can be included with a certificate when it is issued.

In order to access this area, you must have View rights for Brokerage in the Level Setup section in CSR Detail or Producer Detail. To use this feature, you must have Add, Edit, and/or Delete rights.

To access this area:

To view an attachment listed, click View (the link in the far right column in the row for that attachment). The PDF opens in a new tab.

Add an Attachment

  1. Click the Add button on the options bar.
  2. Click the Choose File button to locate the desired file. Only PDF, Microsoft Word, and Microsoft Excel files can be selected.
    Note: Word and Excel files convert to PDF files after attachment.
  3. Enter a Description for the attachment.
  4. To set an expiration date for the attachment, click the Date Off field and select a date from the dropdown calendar. After this date, the attachment will not display in lists when users preview or issue certificates.
  5. Click Import.
  6. You are taken to the attachment detail screen. The File, Created By, Pages, and Description information fills in automatically.
  7. If insureds should be allowed to access this attachment when requesting certificates on the client portal, select the Allow Insureds To Assign checkbox.
  8. If this attachment should be available for all insureds, leave the For All Insureds checkbox selected. Otherwise, deselect the checkbox, click Add Insured, and click an insured this attachment can be used for. Repeat as necessary until all applicable insureds have been selected.
  9. Click Save to add the attachment, Replace to browse and select a different file, or Cancel to discard all changes.
    Note: If you click Replace, after you have selected the new file and modified any other information necessary, you will need to click Replace again to save your changes..

Add an Applied Epic Attachment

If your brokerage uses the Applied Epic management system, you can import attachments from Applied Epic to Applied CSR24.

  1. Click the Add button on the options bar.
  2. Click the Add Insured button in the Epic Attachment Add section.
  3. An Insured Lookup displays. To narrow the list, type part of the insured's Code or Name into the appropriate field in the Search frame and click Search.
  4. Locate and click on the desired attachment.
    Note: Only PDF, Microsoft Word, and Microsoft Excel files can be selected. Word and Excel files convert to PDF files after attachment.

Edit an Attachment

  1. Locate the desired attachment.
  2. Click the Description or the File Name of an attachment to open the attachment detail.
  3. Click the Edit button on the options bar.
  4. Make any necessary changes to the fields on the screen. See instructions above under Add an Attachment for more information.
  5. Click Save to update the attachment, Replace to browse and select a different file, or Cancel to discard all changes.
    Note: If you click Replace, after you have selected the new file and modified any other information necessary, you will need to click Replace again to save your changes.

Delete an Attachment

  1. Locate the desired attachment.
  2. Click the Description or the File Name of an attachment to open the attachment detail.
  3. Click the Delete button on the options bar.
  4. You are prompted, "Are you sure you want to delete?" Click OK.

Inactivate/Reactivate an Attachment

Attachments that have been issued with a certificate cannot be deleted, but they can be inactivated to ensure that they are not available for use anymore. Once you have inactivated an attachment, you have the option of reactivating it in the future.

  1. Locate the desired attachment.
  2. Click the Description or the File Name of an attachment to open the attachment detail.
  3. Click Edit and select or deselect the Inactive checkbox.
  4. Click Save to apply your changes or Cancel to discard them.
