Client Access Log for Servicing Personnel

Use the Client Access Log to review the users who have accessed specific activities and policies on a particular client, from the activity list and policy list screens. This logging can be helpful, for example, if a client calls your office with a question about their account and then calls back later in the day wanting to speak to the same employee. The log does not record specific changes to activities and policies, only the fact that they were accessed.

You must enable audit logging in System Settings to begin recording this information in your system.

Note: This article contains printing instructions that are only applicable if Applied Epic is installed locally on your computer. If you access Epic through a web browser such as Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, or Microsoft Edge, you cannot print directly from within the system. See Printing for more information about the printing capabilities available from Epic Browser. All other steps in this article are applicable to both methods of accessing Epic unless stated otherwise.

  1. Access the Accounts area and locate the client in question.
  2. Highlight the desired client in the Results list and navigate to the Client Access Log.

Note: You can open the Client Access Log from the Access menu in any area of a client's account, but the log only records user activity in the Policy and Activity areas.

  1. The Client Access Log loads blank. To display records for the selected client that meet specific criteria, use the search bar.

Make a selection in each dropdown menu or lookup field and click Find to populate the list.
  2. The list displays the 500 most recent log records for the selected client, providing information about the policies and/or activities accessed and the users who accessed them. The Action column displays List Viewed for items that a user only viewed in the Policies or Activities list and Policy Opened for items whose detail screens a user opened.

Note: If you open the Client Access Log from the Policies list, it displays only policy information. If you open it from the Activities list, it displays only activity information.

To print the list of records, click the Print button next to the list.
