Service Summary Comparison

Use this tool to see the differences between a submitted policy and its issued counterpart or to compare one policy term to another. You can also use service summary comparisons to see the difference between a downloaded change and the current policy. The service summary comparison supports all lines of business except Custom Forms (including Benefits).

1. Locate the account in question and access the Policies area.
   1. To access Accounts from the Home screen, do one of the following:

   1. • Click Accounts on the navigation panel.
      • Click Areas > Accounts on the menubar.
      • Click the down arrow next to Home on the options bar and select Accounts.
      • Click Locate on the options bar.

   To access Accounts from another area of the program, do one of the following:

   • Click Home > Accounts on the menubar.
   • Click the down arrow next to Home on the options bar and select Accounts.
   • Click Locate on the options bar.

   2. In the Locate account dropdown menu, select Client.
   3. In the Locate by dropdown menu, select the appropriate option.
   4. Select the suitable checkbox or checkboxes to the right:
      • Insureds
      • Prospects
      • Active
      • Inactive
   5. Enter the first few letters of the name, lookup code, phone number, etc. (depending on the selection in the Locate by dropdown menu) and press [Enter] or click Locate.
      
      Note: Location by phone number searches all phone numbers associated with client and contact accounts (e.g., residential, mobile, fax).
   6. The Results list displays all of the accounts that match the criteria you entered. Click on a column heading to sort the list by that category. For example, click the Last Name column heading to sort by last name in ascending order. To sort in descending order, click the Last Name column heading again.
   7. Highlight the desired item in the Results list.
   8. Click Policies on the navigation panel, or click Areas > Policies on the menubar.
      
      Note: You can access policies from the Account Detail screen in the same manner.
2. Do one of the following:
   
   • Click On Demand > Service Summary Comparison on the options bar.
   • Click On Demand > Service Summary Comparison on the menubar.

Note: You can access this tool from Policy Detail in the same manner.

3. Select a Line from the dropdown menu in the Compare section and highlight the correct item in the list.
4. Select a Line from the dropdown menu in the To section and highlight the correct item in the list.
5. Select the Include rows replaced by download checkbox below the lists if applicable.
6. Choose a Printer in the dropdown menu.

Note: To change your printer settings, click the Change Printer Settings link label.

7. Click Finish to print the comparison. If there are no differences between the submitted policy and issued policy, you are prompted, "There are no differences between the selected service summary rows." Click OK.

Click Cancel or press [Esc] to close the screen without printing the comparison. You are prompted, "Do you wish to cancel printing?" Click Yes.

Click Preview to preview the comparison. If there are no differences between the submitted policy and issued policy, you are prompted, "There are no differences between the selected service summary rows." Click OK.

D-Rows

D-rows, which are identified with a "D" in the Entered by column, are caused by out-of-sequence endorsements that are downloaded and applied to a policy.

For example, a Client has a NEW business policy that was downloaded into the system correctly. Weeks later, the company sends an endorsement effective for the day that it was downloaded. The carrier then downloads an endorsement that is effective prior to the date that the first endorsement was received, and Applied Epic creates an "out of sequence" (D-Row) endorsement.

The D-Row is created to show the brokerage that a change was made to the policy prior to the information that currently exists in the application, and you can either accept or reject it. If you accept it, none of the information on the current application will be changed, but you can use the service summary comparison to compare the changes from the "out of sequence" (D-Row) to the endorsement that is in effect. If you reject it, then the "out of sequence" (D-Row) endorsement will be deleted from the service summary list.
