Scanned Documents
Use the settings on this screen to set default values for various options
relating to scanned or imported items. Scanned or imported items that
are attached to an employee, group, or department can be accessed from
the Unrouted
Attachments area.
The File Type settings are
only applicable to scanning in the desktop version of Applied Epic (where
Epic is installed locally on a user’s computer). The File
Type setting does not apply to users accessing Epic from a web
browser, as Epic Browser does not allow users to scan documents directly
within the system. Epic Browser users must scan documents outside of Epic
and import them instead.

- Unrouted attachments are saved until
they are recycled or routed. By default, the system saves recycled
items for 60 days before automatically deleting them, but you can
change the setting to delete the recycled items more frequently if
necessary. In the Recycled Items
frame, enter the number
of days after which recycled items should be deleted (between
0 and 60).
By default, the system saves information about scanned items in Batch Scan History
for 12 months, but you can change this setting if needed. In the Batch History frame, enter the
number of months
after which batch scan history should be deleted (between one and
120).
