Queue Configuration

This feature aids in the management of print jobs.

Note: This article contains printing instructions that are only applicable if Applied Epic is installed locally on your computer. If you access Epic through a web browser such as Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, or Microsoft Edge, you cannot print directly from within the system. See Printing for more information about the printing capabilities available from Epic Browser. All other steps in this article are applicable to both methods of accessing Epic unless stated otherwise.

From the Home screen, click Configure on the navigation panel.

From any other area of the program, do one of the following:

Click the down arrow to the right of the Home options bar button and select Configure.
Click Home > Configure on the menubar. The Configure screen displays.

Click Job Management > Queues on the navigation panel.

Note: The Default Queue is created automatically and set as the primary queue when the first print job is run.

You can do the following here:

Add a Queue
1. Do one of the following:
  - Click the Add button to the left of the list.
  - With focus on the list, press [Insert] on your keyboard.
2. Enter the new queue Name in the field on the right. There is a 50-character limit.
3. Enter the Limit (up to 999) for the number of items allowed in the queue.
4. Click Add to enter the new queue and add another.
  
  Click Finish to add the queue and complete the workflow.
  
  Click Cancel to exit the workflow without saving any changes.
Edit a Queue
1. Click on the appropriate queue in the list.
2. Click the Edit button to the left of the list.
3. Amend the new queue Name in the field on the right if necessary. There is a 50-character limit.
4. Optionally amend the Limit (up to 999) for the number of items allowed in the queue.
5. Click Finish to complete the workflow.
  
  Click Cancel to exit the workflow without saving any changes.
Change the Primary Queue
Click on the queue that you want to be the primary queue, and then do one of the following:
1. - Click Actions > Change Primary Queue on the options bar.
  - Click Actions > Change Primary Queue on the menubar.
Delete a Queue
1. Click on the appropriate queue in the list.
2. Do one of the following:
  - Click the Delete button to the left of the list.
  - Press [Delete] on your keyboard.
Print a List of Queues
1. To print a list of the queues in Applied Epic, do one of the following:
  - Click Print > Listview on the options bar.
  - Click File > Print > Listview on the menubar.
2. The Print window displays. Print this list as you would any other document.
