Data Service Network Path Configuration

In this area you can configure network paths and folders so that you can save outgoing files (such as General Ledger Export files) to a network location. Before you configure network paths, you must first associate at least one Data Service server in Data Service Setup Configuration.

1. From the Home screen, do one of the following:
   • Click Configure on the navigation panel.
   • Click the down arrow next to Home on the options bar and select Configure.
   • Click Areas > Configure on the menubar.

   From any other area of the program, do the following:

   • Click the down arrow next to Home on the options bar and select Configure.
   • Click Home > Configure on the menubar.
2. Click Job Management on the navigation panel or Areas > Job Management on the menubar.
3. Click Data Service Network Path on the navigation panel.

You can do the following from here:

• Add a Data Service Network Path
  1. Click the Add button to the left of the Network Path list. The Detail frame is enabled.
  2. Type the path into the Network Path frame.
  3. To associate Data Service Clients to the network path, click the Add button to the left of the Data Service Client Access list. Associating a Data Service Client to a path enables the Data Service Client to send files to that location. Only Data Service Clients that have permission to write a file to the network path should be associated.
     1. Check the desired Data Service Client(s) on the Available Data Service Clients window, which populates with the DSCs defined in Data Service Setup Configuration.
     2. Click Add to continue adding Data Service Clients, Finish to add the selected Data Service Clients and close the Available Data Service Clients window, or Cancel to discard selections.
  4. Click Add to configure another network path.
     
     When you are finished adding network paths, click Finish.
     
     Click Cancel to discard changes.
• Edit a Data Service Network Path
  1. Select the path you wish to edit.
  2. Click the Edit button to the left of the list.
  3. Make any necessary modifications to the Network Path field.
  4. To change the associated Data Service Clients, click the Add button to the left of the Data Service Client Access list. Check or uncheck Data Service Clients as necessary. Click Finish.
  5. Click Finish to save your changes or Cancel to discard them.
• Delete a Data Service Network Path

  If the network path is currently in use in the system, you are unable to delete it.

  1. Select the path you wish to delete.
  2. Click the Delete button to the left of the list or press [Delete] on your keyboard.
  3. You are prompted, “Do you wish to delete this record?” Click Yes.
• Verify Connectivity for a Data Service Network Path

  Use this workflow to test Data Service Client access to the selected network path.

  1. Select the path you wish to test.
  2. On the menubar or options bar, click Actions and select one of the following:
     • Verify All DSCs: Test access to the path for all Data Service Clients associated in Data Service Setup Configuration.
     • Verify Associated DSCs: Test access to the path for all Data Service Clients listed under Data Service Client Access for this network path.
  3. A Results screen displays, showing results for each of the DSCs tested. Possible results include the following:
     • Success: The DSC was able to write to the network path.
     • Network path not found: The DSC could not identify the network path. Either the DSC does not have sufficient rights to view the folder, or the path was entered incorrectly.
     • DSC did not respond in a timely manner: The DSC was unable to contact the network location. This may be due to network connectivity issues or significant resource usage on the server.
     • Unable to contact DSC: The DSC was offline or otherwise unavailable.
     • Access to folder is denied: The DSC does not have rights to write to the network path.
     • Network name cannot be found: The server for the network path could not be found. The server may be offline or unavailable, or the server name may have been entered incorrectly.
     • Not enough available space on disk: The server does not have sufficient disk space to receive a file.  
     • Unknown response: The response received by the server does not match the criteria for any of the responses listed above.
  4. When you have finished reviewing results, click Close.
• Print a List of Data Service Network Paths
  1. Do one of the following:
     • Click the Print button to the left of the list.
     • Click File > Print > Listview on the menubar.
     • Click Print > Listview on the options bar.
     • Press [Ctrl] + [P] on your keyboard.
  2. The Print window displays. Print this as you would any other document.
