Some secure sites, such as Applied CSR24, require a certificate to authenticate access. This article will guide you through the process of creating a digital certificate through Applied Epic. All of the fields are required.
You can only create a digital certificate if Applied Epic is installed locally on your computer. If you access Epic through a web browser such as Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, or Microsoft Edge, this functionality is unavailable (and unnecessary to connect to Applied CSR24). Refer to Single Sign On to CSR24 for specific instructions on configuring a link to Applied CSR24.
Once you create a certificate, your scheduled Epic Data Transfer transmits it to your CSR24 account representative automatically. Epic Data Transfer is set up to run at least daily, but often more frequently. If you need to change its scheduling or run it on demand, contact Applied Customer Support.
Please read the Single Sign On to Applied CSR24 for specific instructions to complete the configuration.
From the Home screen, open Configure > Links > Links.
Click the Add button to add a link or the Edit button to edit a link.
Fill in the Description and Path/Address fields if you have not done so already.
If needed, check
the Pass information
checkbox and enter the information in the Additional
parameter field to pass through to the website.
Note: This
information is provided by the third-party site.
Some sites require
a security certificate in order to access them (e.g., Applied CSR24).
Check the Update
certificate information checkbox to enable the Description,
Source file, and Password
fields.
Note: You
do not need to fill in these fields. The Create
Digital Certificate action will populate them.
Click Actions > Create Digital Certificate.
The Create Digital Certificate pop-up displays. Fill in the required fields:
Brokerage name: This is the name of your brokerage.
Certificate name/description: Choose
a name for the certificate. This is the file name for the saved
copy.
Note:
It is recommended that you use your CSR24 brokerage key name if
you are using CSR24.
Password: Choose a password for the certificate. Make sure it is something secure, but also one you can easily identify.
Confirm password: Re-type the password here.
Valid on: The date your certificate is valid. Choose a date from the dropdown calendar and then enter a time in the at field.
Valid to: The date your certificate expires. Choose a date from the dropdown calendar and then enter a time in the at field.
Set a Destination folder. This is the location where your certificate saves once it is generated.
Click Finish.
The Description, Source file, and Password fields populate with what you defined on the Create Digital Certificate pop-up.
