Real-Time Account Configuration
On this screen, you can set up your Real-Time account for the first
time or review your existing account settings. Although most settings
are editable, do not change them unless an Applied Support technician
instructs you to do so. These settings affect all users’ ability to access
Real-Time workflows.
To access Real-Time Account Configuration, do the following:
- Access the
Configure
area.
- Click
Real-Time
on the navigation panel or Areas
> Real-Time on the menubar.
- Click Account
on the navigation panel.
Set Up a Real-Time Account
Before you can use Real-Time to run transactions, you must configure
a Real-Time account, which requires an Agency ID and password.
- If you are a first-time user, contact TSrequests@appliedsystems.com
to obtain your Agency ID and password.
- If you have migrated to Applied Epic from Applied TAM, Applied
Vision, or Applied DORIS and you used Real-Time in your previous system,
you can use your existing Real-Time credentials.
The system attempts to configure your account information automatically
as soon as you start the configuration process. If you have not already
configured a Real-Time account, you will be prompted to set one up.
- When prompted to create an account, click
Yes.
- The Real-Time
Account Setup window displays. Click the
Setup button and enter your Real-Time
Account ID and Account
Password.
- Enter your Proxy
Server Settings:
- Use automatic proxy settings
(recommended): If your agency uses a proxy server to access
carrier websites, Applied recommends leaving this radio button
selected to allow the system to detect your settings automatically.
- Use manual proxy settings:
If you or another person at your agency is responsible for maintaining
proxy information, select this option and enter the Address, Port, Proxy ID, Proxy password,
and Proxy
bypass list to use manual settings.
- Do not use proxy settings:
If your agency does not use a proxy, Real-Time bypasses proxy
settings and attempts a direct connection.
- Click Setup
again to begin the configuration process for individual companies.
- In the Real-Time
Company Codes pop-up window, select the product with the code
you want to edit.
Click the Edit
button to the left of the list or double click the product. To look
up a company code, select the product and click the Lookup button. Select the company from
the list that displays in the pop-up window.
- Update the information in the Edit code(s) field. You can enter multiple
codes for companies with more than one code in your system. Separate
the codes with semicolons.
- Click Apply.
The configuration results display in the Results
frame.
- Click Finish
to save your account settings.
Manage Your Real-Time Account Settings
Unless specifically instructed by Support, do not alter the default
Proxy Server Settings, Data Store,
or Override Settings.
The Connection Information
section displays the site for which the account is configured.
- Change the Proxy
Server Settings if necessary.
- Use automatic proxy settings
(recommended): If your agency uses a proxy server to access
carrier websites, Applied recommends selecting this radio button
to allow the system to detect your settings automatically.
- If you need to associate predefined issuing
company codes in your system with the Real-Time product list, click
the Account Update
button in the Data Store
section. If multiple codes are configured for a single
product, separate them with semicolons. However, the codes themselves
cannot contain semicolons, commas, or tildes. The
Last config date field
displays the last time you ran the Account Update.
- If you have an inquiry about your account
or need to retrieve Real-Time account information, select Click here to access Online User Administration
Site. If you have forgotten your administrator password, select
Retrieve Online
User Administration password.
- Your agency’s predetermined XML setup
for Real-Time displays in the Override
Settings section. If your agency has its own custom settings
for Real-Time, select the Use
Personal Settings for Transformation Settings checkbox.
- Enter or edit override settings in the
text box if necessary.
- If an Applied Support technician has
instructed you to do so, click Delete
Cache. Do not click
the Delete Cache button under
any other circumstances.
- Click Update
Settings to save the changes you made to the selected Real-Time
site.
