Delete a Policy

You can delete a policy if it has only one service summary row, its stage is In Process, and it has no open activities, certificates, evidences or transactions associated to it. You cannot delete lines of business that were added mid-term.

  1. Locate the account and access the Policies area.
  2. A list of policies for the selected client displays. Change the policies that display in the list if necessary.
  3. You can change the columns that display in the list if necessary.

Note: Click the Sort Descending link to sort the policies by date starting with the most recent.

  1. Click on the policy in the list.

    Note: Monoline and package policies are in bold. Lines of business included in package policies are not bolded; they are indented and listed below the package policies to which they belong.
  1. Do one of the following:
  1. You are prompted to confirm the deletion. Click Yes.

    If you are prompted: "Unable to delete policy/line. Open activities exist," do the following:
    1. Access the activities area .
    2. Locate any open activities associated with the policy.
    3. Close the activities in question .

When you have closed the activities, you can delete the policy.

Note: If the policy has previously been copied using the Copy Policy action, you are prompted, "Deleting this policy will remove history information from lines copied from this policy. Are you sure you wish to delete this policy?" Clicking Yes to confirm deletion will remove the Prior Account information from the copied policy's Categories/History tab.
