Name Search

Use this search function to locate an entity in TAM by entering part or all of a name, address, or note.

  1. At Home Base, click Clients & Files. From the dropdown menu above the list, select the desired entity type.
  2. Click Options > Search > Name Search (or Options > Name Search, depending on the list you are viewing).
  3. Type a new keyword into the search field, or click the dropdown arrow to select from recently used search criteria.
    Note: You may enter partial words. You may also enter multiple words, separated by a space.
  4. Check all fields that you would like to search:
  5. If you would like your search to include contacts entered in the system, check Search Contacts.
  6. To further customize your search, check Use Advanced Setting.
    1. In the Client Code Range frame, leave the default selection of All or select Range and enter a range of client codes.
    2. In the Find Words frame, determine whether you want the search to retrieve records containing Any or All of the keywords entered.
    3. In the Match Words frame, determine how precisely the records must match the keywords.
      • Partial: Retrieves partial keyword matches.
      • Entire: Only retrieves entire keyword matches.
      • Soundex: Retrieves records with words that phonetically match the spelling of the keyword.
  7. Click Find to execute the search, or Clear to start over.
  8. Information for the first matching record displays in the Results frame. Click OK to close the search screen and jump to that record in the list, or use the Previous and Next buttons to view other search results.
  9. To exit the search screen, click Cancel.
