Renewal Workflows
This document details the workflow for processing a renewal using a custom dec or a CSIO application. It also describes the process for the marketing and binding of a renewal on a CSIO application.
Process a Renewal - Custom Dec
Use the following steps to process a renewal using a custom dec.
- At Home Base, click Clients & Files.
- Select Customers from dropdown box.
- Select the customer from the list and click Policies.
- From the Policy List, select the expiring policy.
- Note the premium amount.
- Click Options and select Current App.
- Review and update all sections of the application with the renewal information by clicking the tabs on the right or using the [Page Down] key.
- If application information has changed, complete the Save Application History Window.
- Type the expiration Date for the expiring policy.
- Type a Description. For example, Prior to 99 renewal $250 (Exp. premium per step 5).
- Click Yes.
If application information has not changed:
-
- Click Options and Move to History.
- Complete the Save Application History Window per steps 7a-c.
- From the File menu, select Exit.
- From the Policy List, select the renewal policy.
- Click Detail and update the billing screen.
- Click OK.
- Click Yes to revise the record.

Process a Renewal - CSIO Application
Use the following steps to process a renewal using a CSIO application.
- At Home Base, click Clients and Files.
- Select Customers from dropdown box.
- Select the customer from the list and click Policies.
- From the Policy List, select the expiring policy.
- Note the premium amount.
- Click Options and select Future App.
- Click Yes to confirm that this is a new application.
- Review and update all sections of the application with renewal information by clicking the tabs on the right or using the [Page Down] key.
- From the Filemenu, select Open.
- If other applications are attached, click each one and repeat steps 6 and 7.
- Click Options and select Move to current app.
- Complete the Move Future to the current window:
- Click Move All Apps.
- Select Delete Future app(s) after move.
- Click Update all billing screens.
Note: Only Eff and Exp fields update.
- Click OK.
- Complete the Save Application History Window.
- Change the Date to the expiration date.
- Type a Description. For example, Prior to 99 renewal $250.
- Click Yes.
- From the File menu, select Exit.
- From the Policy List, select the first line in the renewal policy and click Detail.
- Update the billing screen.
- Click OK.
Marketing and Binding a Renewal on a CSIO Application
Marketing
- From Home Base, click Clients and Files.
- Select Customers from the dropdown box.
- From the Customer List, select the applicable customer and click Policies.
- From the Policy List, select the first line of the expiring policy and click Options.
- Click Future App.
- Click Yes in response to the question: "Is this a new Future app?"
- Review and update all sections of the application with renewal information by clicking the tabs on right or using the [Page Down] key.
- Click File and Open.
- If other applications are attached, click on each one and repeat steps 6 and 7.
- Click File and Print.
- Click the All Sections button.
- Complete the Print/Communication Window:
- Click Add for the selected companies for each company being submitted to.
- To print immediately, click Print. Click OK.
- Enter or revise any information in each field of the Activity Detail:
- Category: Will default to SBAP, app submitted for policy. Change to QTAP if the application is being submitted for quote
- Note: Use this field to add more information (e.g. Faxed to Company).
- Open: Click Yes.
- Click OK.
- Click File.
- Click Exit.
Binding Renewal
- From Home Base, click Clients and Files.
- Select Customers from the dropdown box.
- From the Customer List, select the applicable customer and click Policies.
- From the Policy List, select the first line of the expiring policy.
- Note the premium amount.
- Click Options.
- Click Future App.
- Click Options.
- Click Move to current app.
- Complete the Move Future to current window:
- Click Move All Apps.
- Click Delete Future app(s) after move.
- Click Update all billing screens.
Note: Only Eff and Exp fields update.
- Click OK.
- Complete the Save Application History Window.
- Date defaults to system date. Change to expiration date of expiring policy.
- Description: Example, prior to 99 renewal $250. Click OK.
- From the Policy List, select the first line of the renewal policy and click Detail.
- Update the billing screen.
- Click OK.
- Add the invoice. See the Transaction workflows.
