Renewal Workflows

This document details the workflow for processing a renewal using a custom dec or a CSIO application. It also describes the process for the marketing and binding of a renewal on a CSIO application.

Process a Renewal - Custom Dec

Use the following steps to process a renewal using a custom dec.

  1. At Home Base, click Clients & Files.
  2. Select Customers from dropdown box.
  3. Select the customer from the list and click Policies.
  4. From the Policy List, select the expiring policy.
  5. Note the premium amount.
  6. Click Options and select Current App.
  7. Review and update all sections of the application with the renewal information by clicking the tabs on the right or using the [Page Down] key.
  8. If application information has changed, complete the Save Application History Window.
    1. Type the expiration Date for the expiring policy.
    2. Type a Description. For example, Prior to 99 renewal $250 (Exp. premium per step 5).
    3. Click Yes.

If application information has not changed:

    1. Click Options and Move to History.
    2. Complete the Save Application History Window per steps 7a-c.
  1. From the File menu, select Exit.
  2. From the Policy List, select the renewal policy.
  3. Click Detail and update the billing screen. 
  4. Click OK.
  5. Click Yes to revise the record.

Process a Renewal - CSIO Application

Use the following steps to process a renewal using a CSIO application.

  1. At Home Base, click Clients and Files.
  2. Select Customers from dropdown box.
  3. Select the customer from the list and click Policies.
  4. From the Policy List, select the expiring policy.
  5. Note the premium amount.
  6. Click Options and select Future App
  7. Click Yes to confirm that this is a new application.
  8. Review and update all sections of the application with renewal information by clicking the tabs on the right or using the [Page Down] key.
  9. From the Filemenu, select Open.
  10. If other applications are attached, click each one and repeat steps 6 and 7.
  11. Click Options and select Move to current app.
  12. Complete the Move Future to the current window:
    1. Click Move All Apps.
    2. Select Delete Future app(s) after move.
    3. Click Update all billing screens

      Note:
      Only Eff and Exp fields update.
    4. Click OK.
  13. Complete the Save Application History Window.
    1. Change the Date to the expiration date.
    2. Type a Description. For example, Prior to 99 renewal $250.
    3. Click Yes.
  14. From the File menu, select Exit.
  15. From the Policy List, select the first line in the renewal policy and click Detail.
  16. Update the billing screen.
  17. Click OK.

Marketing and Binding a Renewal on a CSIO Application

Marketing

  1. From Home Base, click Clients and Files.
  2. Select Customers from the dropdown box.
  3. From the Customer List, select the applicable customer and click Policies.
  4. From the Policy List, select the first line of the expiring policy and click Options.
  5. Click Future App
  6. Click Yes in response to the question: "Is this a new Future app?"
  7. Review and update all sections of the application with renewal information by clicking the tabs on right or using the [Page Down] key.
  8. Click File and Open.
  9. If other applications are attached, click on each one and repeat steps 6 and 7.
  10. Click File and Print.
  11. Click the All Sections button.
  12. Complete the Print/Communication Window:
  1. Enter or revise any information in each field of the Activity Detail:
  1. Click OK.
  2. Click File.
  3. Click Exit.

Binding Renewal

  1. From Home Base, click Clients and Files.
  2. Select Customers from the dropdown box.
  3. From the Customer List, select the applicable customer and click Policies.
  4. From the Policy List, select the first line of the expiring policy.
  5. Note the premium amount.
  6. Click Options.
  7. Click Future App.
  8. Click Options.
  9. Click Move to current app.
  10. Complete the Move Future to current window:
    1. Click Move All Apps.
    2. Click Delete Future app(s) after move.
    3. Click Update all billing screens

      Note:
      Only Eff and Exp fields update.
    4. Click OK.
  11. Complete the Save Application History Window.
  12. From the Policy List, select the first line of the renewal policy and click Detail.
  13. Update the billing screen. 
  14. Click OK.
  15. Add the invoice. See the Transaction workflows.
