Account Policy Editor
This feature sets the password length and number of signon attempts allowed when accessing Security Manager.
- From the Home Base, click Utilities.
- On the Utility Manager screen, open the System Administrative folder in the treeview.
- Select Security Manager.
- Click the arrow
to continue.
- Click the Account Policy Editor
icon.
- Click the tabs to access the settings.
- Select the desired settings on each tab. Click Apply after you select settings on each tab before you move to the next tab.
Standard Tab
- Minimum Password: Enter the minimum number of characters required for all passwords.
- Signon Attempts: Enter the maximum number of incorrect signon attempts allowed before the user account is disabled.
Advanced Tab
- Alphabetic Characters: Click to require all passwords to include at least one alphabetic character.
- Digits: Click to require that all passwords include at least one digit.
- Punctuation: Click to require that all passwords include at least one punctuation character.
History/Date Tab
- Minimum Password Age: Enter the number of days a password must be used before a user can change it.
- Maximum Password Age: Enter the number of days a password can be used before the system requires a user to change it.
- Password Warning: Enter the number of days before a password expires that a user will be sent an expiration warning.
- Password History: Enter a the number of previous passwords saved so that a user cannot reuse a password. (The maximum is 25 passwords.)
- When you are finished selecting settings, click OK.
