Define Attachment Subcategories

The attachment Subcategory field is an optional field that enables you to narrow your search for attachments in the Attachment List and information in attachment-related Reports. The Subcategory field displays on each Add Attachment screen throughout TAM.

Use the Define Attachment Subcategories utility to add, revise, and delete the field options displayed in the lookup window when you double click inside the Subcategory field.

Add a Subcategory

  1. At Home Base, click Utilities.
  2. On the Utility Manager screen, open the General folder in the treeview.
  3. Open the Field Defaults folder and select Define Attachment Subcategories.
  4. Click the arrow to continue.
  5. Click Add.
  6. In the Code field, enter a subcategory. You may use up to eighteen characters.
  7. Click OK.
  8. Click Cancel to return to the Utility List, or select Exit from the File menu to close Utility Manager.

Revise a Subcategory

  1. At Home Base, click Utilities.
  2. On the Utility Manager screen, open the General folder in the treeview.
  3. Open the Field Defaults folder and select Define Attachment Subcategories.
  4. Click the arrow to continue.
  5. Select an existing subcategory from the list and click Revise.
  6. In the Code field, revise the subcategory. You may use up to eighteen characters.
  7. Click OK.
  8. Click Cancel to return to the Utility List, or select Exit from the File menu to close Utility Manager.

Delete a Subcategory

  1. At Home Base, click Utilities.
  2. On the Utility Manager screen, open the General folder in the treeview.
  3. Open the Field Defaults folder and select Define Attachment Subcategories.
  4. Click the arrow to continue.
  5. Select an existing subcategory from the list and click Delete.
  6. Click Yes to confirm the deletion. The code is removed from the list.
  7. Click Cancel to return to the Utility List, or select Exit from the File menu to close Utility Manager.
