Copy a History Policy to a Current Application

Any type of policy or custom dec can be copied to a current policy provided that the History policy was created with the current version of the application. If the History policy was created in a previous version of the application, it displays as greyed out on the pop-up list of lines of business.

  1. From Home Base, click Clients & Files.
  2. From the dropdown menu above the list, select Customers.
  3. Select the desired customer in the list.
  4. Click Policy List on the button bar.
  5. Click the History tab.
  6. Click the desired policy, click Options, and select Copy History to Current.
  7. In the Copy Policy History to Current window, the Empty policy slot defaults but can be changed to a different empty slot number if desired.
  8. The Issuing Company and Billing Company default from the selected history policy. To change either of these items, double click in the appropriate field, select the appropriate company in the list that displays, and click OK.
  9. Double click in the Status field, choose the appropriate policy status code in the list, and click OK.
  10. The Bill Mode defaults but can be changed if necessary. The choices are Agency, Direct, Broker, and Lienholder.
  11. If you wish to specify a Lienholder, double click in the field, choose a lienholder in the list, and click OK.
  12. The lines of business that will copy over already default as checked and are shown in bold text. Lines that cannot be copied are listed but are not checked and are shown in gray text. Deselect the checkbox for any line of business that you do not wish to copy.
  13. Click OK. A confirmation window displays stating that the items were moved to a current policy and lets you know how many items were copied.
