myTAM Button Editor

Create system buttons and custom user buttons with assigned workflows.

  1. From Home Base, click Utilities.
  2. On the Utility Manager screen, open the System Administrative folder and select myTAM Button Editor.
  3. Click the arrow to continue.
  4. On the myTAM Button Editor screen, select the type of buttons you wish to create or view (My Buttons or System Buttons).
        • System First: Displays the system buttons before any user buttons.
        • User First: Displays custom user buttons before any systems buttons.
        • User Only: Displays only custom user buttons.
        • Merged: Combines system and user button menus onto a single button. For example, system button 1 and user button 1 combined into one button with the system label.
        • Adjust borders on startup: Sizes the myTAM workflow button bar in relation to the number of buttons contained on it.

      • /Displays the buttons created by the current user.
      • Linked to this User ID: Enables you to link your button definitions to a selected user's button definitions. Each time you run myTAM, your button and menu definitions are automatically updated, based on any changes made to the linked user's definitions.
      • Copy from User: Enabled if Created by me is selected. Use this option to copy button and menu definitions created by another user.

Add a Button

  1. Select either My Buttons or System Buttons.
  2. Click Insert.
  3. With the button # selected, click Edit.
  4. Select a stock image *.BPM provided by TAM, or opt to import your own image.
    1. Click Import.
    2. From a Windows Explorer window, browse to the BMP file location.
    3. Select the BMP image and click Open.
    4. Select the imported BMP from Button Visuals list.
  5. Enter a Label name for the button.

    Note: The Label name can only contain up to 20 characters of text to appear on the button. To assign a shortcut key to the button, place an ampersand (&) in front of the desired character in the button label. (Add &Customer would make the shortcut [Alt]+C.)
  6. Enter a ToolTip to describe the workflow your button will open. Note that a tool tip is text that displays when you hover the mouse over the button.
  7. Select the workflow you wish to assign to the button. Multiple workflows may be assigned to a button. Use the buttons beneath the list to edit your custom workflow.
    1. Click Add to include a workflow to the button. You can add a workflow, a TAM program, or an external application.
      • If this item is a Workflow, select the defined workflow from the Workflow frame list and click OK.
      • If this item is a TAM Program, select the TAM Program available from the list and click OK.
      • If this item is a Program, type a Label for the Program. Then browse to select the external application’s EXE, click the Browse button and locate the file from the Windows Explorer window. Once both fields are filled out, click OK to add your program.
    2. Click Edit to modify any of the settings described in the add a workflow.
    3. Click Remove to delete the Button/Menu Items.
