Print Auto IDs

Print a New Auto ID

  1. At Home Base, click Clients & Files.
  2. Select Customers or Prospects from the dropdown list.
  3. Select the client in the list.
  4. Click the Policy List button.
  5. On the Policy List, right click the desired policy and select Auto Ids.
  6. A dialog asks if this is a new ID. Click Yes. If a prompt does not display, the policy already has auto ID cards that you may need to delete; follow the Reprint an Auto ID instructions below.
  7. Select the correct vehicle from the Current Vehicles list and click Select to move it the Cards for Creation list.
  8. Select any vehicle schedules, if applicable.
  9. Select the Number of Copies.
  10. Click OK.
  11. Review the information that you want printed on the card, making changes if necessary.

    Note: Certain states require that DMV codes be printed on auto ID cards. This information defaults from Company Detail.
  12. From the File menu, select Print.
  13. Select the correct Date, Producer, and number of copies.
  14. Click the Printer Setup button to make sure your print options are correct.
  15. Click Auto ID Setup to choose how you want the ID to print:
    1. Select the appropriate Printer in the dropdown list.

      Note: Click Printer Setup and make any necessary changes if you need to amend the settings for the selected printer.
    2. Select the Output Type. You can use a Pre-Printed Form, or you can use a Plain Paper Auto ID. You can optionally display a message if the vehicle's state changes.
    3. Optionally select the Display a prepare printer message if the vehicle State changes checkbox.
    4. Select the checkbox if you want the NAIC Code to default from the application instead of the Company File.
    5. If you are printing a pre-printed form, enter the State. Click the Pre-printed output button to choose the state and set the card's properties. You can change the card's print position, add and remove fields, and change where the fields print. Click OK on the State Unique Pre-printed Output screen after you are satisfied with the settings. Select the checkbox if you want to default to the ACORD standard card.
    6. If you are printing a plain paper auto ID, select the state and the card you want to print. You can use different form editions for different purposes; different orientations (e.g., landscape) let you fit more cards on a single sheet. If you are using the ACORD 50 WM 2/95, click the Change printed text button if you need to alter the text on the card in any way and select the Cards Per Page that you want to print.
    7. Optionally select the Default to ACORD Standard Card checkbox.
  16. Click OK after selecting all Auto ID print options.
  17. To add a signature, double click the Signature field to choose from available signature files.
  18. Select the state you want to print from the list, and click the arrow to move it to the Plain Paper Cards or Pre Printed Cards list. Use the double arrow to move all states to a list.
  19. Select if you want to Queue, Print, or Preview the card. Queue prints the card later. Print prints the card immediately. Preview displays the card for review; you can print the card or save it as a PDF after previewing.
  20. Click OK to queue, print, or preview the card.
  21. Complete the activity screen, if it displays.
  22. If you are using pre-printed auto IDs, make sure the correct stock is in the printer, and then click OK.
  23. The auto ID prints using the options you selected.

Reprint an Auto ID

  1. At Home Base, click Clients & Files.
  2. Select Customers or Prospects from the dropdown list.
  3. Select the client in the list.
  4. Click the Policy List button.
  5. On the Policy List, right click the desired policy and select Auto IDs.
  6. Review the information for the auto ID. Make sure the correct vehicle is selected from the dropdown list.

    Note: Certain states require that DMV codes be printed on auto ID cards. This information defaults from Company Detail.
  7. From the File menu, select Print.
  8. Select the correct Date, Producer, and number of copies.
  9. Click the Printer Setup button to make sure your print options are correct.
  10. Click Auto ID Setup to choose how you want the ID to print:
    1. Select the appropriate Printer in the dropdown list.
