TAMSTART

TAMSTART must be run each day by the first person to sign on to TAM. See Run TAMSTART for workflow steps.

Below is a list of functions performed by TAMSTART in the order in which they occur.

  1. Checks these subdirectories to verify that they exist.
  1. Checks to see that the DBF and NDX files exist.
  2. Checks to see the date of the last Reindex and date of last Pack and Reindex.
  3. Checks to see if the record size listed in the header of each DBF matches the record size listed in INITIAL.TBL.
  4. Checks the system control record in TRANSACT.DBF. 
  5. Checks the system control record in INVOICE.DBF.
  6. Checks the system control record (M) in INVTRANS.DBF.
  7. Checks for duplicate journal entries in CASH.DBF. Looks for more than one record with JOURNAL=J.
  8. Checks for the control record in CLAIM.DBF. 
  9. Checks for the control record in D3MEMO3.DBF. 
  10. Checks for the control record in TFLINK.DBF.
  11. Checks for the control record in ATTACH.DBF.
  12. Checks for the control record in ATTCHDET.DBF.
  13. Checks the general ledger accounts below for a blank in the first byte of each field.
  14. Looks at the fiscal year for each agency and verifies that the current month falls within it.
  15. If the fiscal year check passes, checks each account for a valid entry in GLEDGER.DBF for that agency's fiscal year.
  16. Repairs the control records listed above except for TRANSACT.DBF.

Run TAMSTART

  1. At Home Base, click Utilities.
  2. On the Utility Manager screen, open the System Administrative folder and select TAMSTART.
  3. Click the arrow to continue. TAMSTART runs and performs the functions listed above. A checklist appears for the functions performed.
  4. An icon displays before each item in the list. To view the icon legend, select Icon Legend from the Help menu.
  5. Click any items in the list that appear with critical errors and warnings to read the explanation in the lower pane of the TAM Startup screen.
  6. If necessary, use the View Errors and Repair buttons to view details and repair the errors.
