AutoRater Premium Adjustments

Applied Rating Services enables you to define premium adjustments for specific carriers while completing the information on the underwriting screen for the policy quote, as well as to apply premium adjustments on the Carrier Detail results screen for the policy quote.

Define Premium Adjustments

  1. To access Define Premium Adjustments do one of the following:

From the Premium Adjustments screen, premiums can be revised by increasing or decreasing the selected premiums by a dollar amount or percentage; premiums can also be deleted.  

Add Premium Adjustments

  1. Select a carrier from the Carrier dropdown menu.
  2. Click the Add button to activate the fields.
  3. Enter the Name and Description and select the Discount / Surcharge Name for the premium adjustment.
  4. Select the coverage(s) in the list that the premium adjustment(s) will be applied to.
  5. Click the dropdown to select + $, -$, +% or -% from the dropdown menu and then enter the Amount next to it.
  6. Click OK to add the premium adjustment(s), or click the Add button to create a new adjustment for another carrier, and exit the screen.

Revise Premium Adjustments

  1. Select a carrier from the Carrier dropdown menu.
  2. Select the Premium Adjustment you want to revise from the list.
  3. If necessary, revise the information for the selected Premium Adjustment.
  4. Click OK to save the premium adjustment and exit the screen.

Delete Premium Adjustments

  1. Select a carrier from the Carrier dropdown menu.
  2. Select the Premium Adjustment you want to delete from the list, and click the Delete button.
  3. Click Yes to confirm the deletion of the Premium Adjustment.

Applying Premium Adjustments

  1. To access Define Premium Adjustments, do one of the following from the Carrier detail screen:
  1. The first vehicle on the quote defaults in the Vehicle dropdown menu. Click the dropdown menu to select a different vehicle if necessary.
  2. The Drivers list displays the drivers for the vehicle shown in the Vehicle dropdown. Select the driver you wish to apply the premium adjustment to in the list.
  3. In the Driver section, enter the premium adjustment and amount next to the coverage you want to apply it to.

    Note: Once the premium adjustment is entered, the Total column will change for that coverage and the Total Premium Adjustments section will show the change.
  4. Click OK to exit the screen to accept the change, or click Cancel to exit the screen to disregard the changes.

Once applied, a notation displays on the Carrier Detail screen under Messages, and the affected premiums display in red.

Note: The premium adjustment is set by the carrier. If you use the Define Premium Adjustments option to apply discounts/surcharges, they save for that particular quote with the selected carrier. Therefore, the applied discounts or surcharges for the selected carrier remain if you re-quote or copy the existing quote.
