Converting a Dwelling on a Property Quote

Within PropertyRater, you can convert dwelling types and switch primary dwellings without the need to re-enter risk information. This enables you to expedite your rating workflow and reduce errors due to manual data-entry when changing a dwelling risk type.

Changing a Dwelling Type

1. From the Property Underwriting screen, select the dwelling in the Locations list you want to change and then click the Convert Dwelling button .
2. Select Change to... in the dropdown menu, then select the appropriate dwelling type to convert the dwelling.
   
   Note: The options in the dropdown menu display only if the carriers you are licensed for in the selected province support that type of dwelling.
3. If Homeowners, Condominiums, or Tenants was selected, the Convert Primary Dwelling Type window displays, requiring you to select what the Primary dwelling type will be converted to. Select a secondary dwelling type and then click OK to continue.
   
   Note: The options on the window display only if the carriers you are licensed for in the selected province support that type of dwelling.
4. Click Convert to confirm you want to perform the dwelling conversion.

Changing the Primary Dwelling

1. From the Property Underwriting screen, select the dwelling in the Locations list you want to make Primary and then click the Convert Dwelling button  .
2. Select Make Primary in the dropdown menu.
3. The Convert Primary Dwelling Type window displays. You are required to convert the current Primary dwelling into an available secondary type. Select a secondary dwelling type, then click OK to continue.
   
   Note: The options on the window display only if the carriers you are licensed for in the selected province support that type of dwelling.
4. Click Convert to confirm you want to perform the dwelling conversion.
