Underwriting Override

Applied Rating Services enables you to adjust the premium manually. Use the underwriting override tool if there are additional discounts or offerings that need to be applied to the policy that are not offered by the programmed ratebook.

1. To access the Underwriting Override tool from the Premium Summary, or the Carrier Detail screen, click Prem Adj > Underwriting Override on the options bar.
2. A Warning screen displays with the message Discounts/Surcharges may not be accurately applied when Class and Driving Record are modified. For accurate results, return the underwriting screen to modify information and Re-quote. Click OK to continue.
3. The Underwriting Override screen displays. The first vehicle for the auto quote defaults in the Vehicle field. To select a different vehicle, click in the Vehicle field and select the vehicle you want from the dropdown menu.
4. Make changes to the Carrier’s Class, TP DR, and/or COL DR values by clicking on the value you wish to change—a dropdown menu will display, and you can then select a different value.
   
   Note: To reset all Class and Driving Record overrides and re-quote the policy click the Reset button and click Yes on the popup message to complete the reset.
5. Click OK to apply the changes to the policy quote, or click Cancel to discard the changes.
6. In the MSG section of the Carrier Detail screen, notes concerning the carrier display, some of which are based on the change(s) that were made on the Underwriting Override screen.  For example, if the Rating class was changed, a note in the MSG section will state Rating Class Adjusted From: [Number Value] to [Number Value].
