Product: Applied Cloud

Applied Cloud products provide optimal data security and current software to keep your business running smoothly. To access Applied Cloud on any workstation, the following programs must be installed: the Microsoft Remote Desktop Connection client, the Tricerat Screwdrivers Printing client, the Virtual Channel client, and, for Applied TAMCloud and Applied VisionCloud, the Applied Upload Center Launcher.

This document details the standard configuration procedure for connecting your business to your management system. Complete the following steps to install the necessary software to access Applied Cloud.

  1. Log into the Applied Community and click the Product Information button.
  2. Click or hover on your Applied [product name] button.
  3. From the Download Product Updates section (from classic menu, click the button), select the Applied [product name] Cloud button.
  4. Select the link for the appropriate installer file.
  5. The message Do you want to run or save this file? displays; click the Save menu arrow and select Save As.
  6. From the Save as window, locate your Desktop and click Save.
  7. Right click the saved file, and select Run as Administrator.
  8. A pop-up screen with the question Do you want to allow this app to make changes your device? displays. Click Yes.
  9. TheApplied Cloud Install Setup Wizard Beginning Install screen displays. Click Next.
  10. On the Setup – Applied Cloud Install screen, you can select to install the components you need for Applied Cloud:
  11. If this is a new workstation installation, leave the options for all applications selected and click Install.
  12. If you are reinstalling components onto this workstation, deselect the components already installed and click Install. See the sections below for further instructions regarding Remote Desktop Connection, Virtual Channel Client, ScrewDrivers Client, and Applied Upload Center Launcher.

The selected installations will automatically run in the order listed below.

RDP Shortcut

  1. On the Installing RDP Shortcut window, enter your Applied Cloud username in the What is your Applied Cloud Services account name? field.
  2. If your local station has more than one monitor and you would like to utilize both to view your remote session, check the Use multiple monitors checkbox.
  3. Click OK.

VChannel Client

To prepare for the VChannel installation, make sure that all remote client sessions, and the Remote Desktop Connection client, are closed before beginning the installation. Local Administrator rights on the workstation are required for this installation.

  1. Access the VChannel Client installation on the Applied Community under Product Information, hover or select the Applied Product > Download Product Updates > Applied [Product Name]Cloud > VChannel Client installation or here. Select Run in the pop-up message. Alternatively, select Save, and save the EXE to your desktop, and then double click the VChannel Client Installer icon that displays on your desktop.
  2. The Welcome to the InstallShield Wizard for VChannelClient screen displays. Click Next
  3. The License Agreement screen displays. Select the I accept the terms of the license agreement radio button and click Next to continue.
  4. The Customer Information screen displays. Complete the User Name and Company Name fields with the appropriate information. Click Next
  5. The Ready to Install the Program screen displays. Click Install.        
  6. When the InstallShield Wizard Complete message displays, click Finish to close the window.

Tricerat ScrewDrivers

  1. The ScrewDrivers Client Setup pop-up message displays, stating that the installation is being configured. Do not click Cancel.
  2. The ScrewDrivers Client Setup screen displays and searches for installed applications, and notes that the installation set up is being initialized. The configuration will complete automatically.
  3. The Tricerat, Inc Screw Drivers Client screen displays. The set up location defaults. Select the checkbox next to I agree to the License terms and conditions. Once you select the checkbox, the Install button is activated; click Install.
  4. The ScrewDrivers Client Setup screen displays with a status bar. Once the install is complete, the message ScrewDrivers Client has been successfully installed displays. Click Finish.

Tricerat ScrewDrivers configuration options

The following instructions are for users with workstations with multiple printers installed. If you had previously installed Tricerat ScrewDrivers, your configuration options are retained. If you have not previously installed Tricerat ScrewDrivers, or your wish to change or verify your configuration options, complete the following steps once you have installed Tricerat ScrewDrivers to specify the printers to be created and set a default printer in the Applied Cloud environment.

  1. On the workstation desktop, while not logged into your Applied Cloud environment, navigate to Start > All Programs > Tricerat > Client Control panel.
  2. Click the General tab. It is recommended that Spoof the Default Printer not be selected unless you wish to define a default printer in Applied Cloud that is not your local station’s default printer. Click the Apply button above the tab bar to save your changes.
  3. Click the Printers tab. In this area, the printers to be created in Applied Cloud are specified.
    1. All printers are selected by default: to deselect/reselect a printer, click the Allowed switch next to the Printer Name.
    2. Drag and drop the Printer Name to prioritize the printer list—the higher the printer displays in the list, the higher its priority. The first printer in your list will be your default printer.
    3. Click he Apply button above the tab bar to save your changes.

Applied Cloud Upload Center Launcher

The Applied Upload Center Launcher is only necessary for Applied TAMCloud and Applied VisionCloud users.

  1. On the Welcome to the Applied Cloud Upload Center Launcher screen, click Next.
  2. On the Select Installation Folder screen, if necessary, update the folder location where the application will be installed. Additionally, you can select to install the Upload Center Launcher just for your use or for everyone who uses your computer by selecting the appropriate radio button. Everyone is the default. Click Next.
  3. Click Next.
  4. Click Close.

After installing the package, double click your Applied Cloud icon on your desktop and enter user name and password to log in.
