To ensure
access and permissions for all of the capabilities in Epic Bridge,
a new Microsoft Outlook app,
a Microsoft Admin must
deploy Epic Bridge to your organization’s users. Do not
install Epic Bridge on your own machine from Microsoft
AppSource as an individual user. Refer to Installing Epic Bridge
for detailed installation instructions.
Some items in this release require the latest
versions of the Applied Epic Extension (3.16.17) and the Epic Connection
Suite Package (1.41.41). Users must close and reopen their browsers
to receive the updated extension.
Since version 1.38.7, all versions of the Connection Suite package (including this one) include a Windows service called Applied Connection Suite Installer, which installs updates to the Connection Suite Package on your workstation automatically. Make sure this service is installed and running on all users' workstations.
If you are still installing Connection Suite Package updates manually, download the installation file from Help > Connection Suite or push this update to users’ workstations if your organization manages the installation for them. Applied recommends closing Microsoft Outlook before installing the package.
Epic BridgeThe majority of attachments in most organizations’ systems are email messages, and many employees read up to 100 emails in Applied Epic every day. Shuttling between Applied Epic and Microsoft Outlook as you read, compose, and document messages can add hours of work to your routine.
Epic Bridge is a new Microsoft Outlook app that connects you to Applied Epic while you manage your inbox. Available as a sidebar in your email window no matter where you access Outlook (Classic Outlook, New Outlook, or Outlook on the Web), Epic Bridge automatically surfaces information as you read and compose emails and streamlines the process of documenting those emails in Applied Epic.
Epic Bridge provides the same functionality as the existing Applied Epic Outlook Add-in and more, connecting you to important information and key workflows in Applied Epic. Epic Bridge streamlines the documentation process so you can power through your inbox faster to focus on more valuable tasks and supercharge your customer service.
Epic Bridge gives you access to the following capabilities directly within Microsoft Outlook:
Locate accounts: Epic Bridge automatically locates account records with matching email addresses when you select an email. You can also quickly locate an account of any type by typing all or part of the lookup code or account name. Select the arrow icon to open the account in Applied Epic.
Locate and attach to items: If the subject line contains a policy number, Epic Bridge suggests the policy and any open activities on it when you attach the email. You can also attach emails manually to any of the following items:
Activities
Carrier Submissions
Claims
Lines
Marketing Submissions
Policies
Opportunities
Services
If you select an activity or policy, you can use the arrow icon to open it in Applied Epic.
Attach emails: To attach one or more emails in Applied Epic, select them in your inbox and select the Attach Email to Epic checkbox. You can also select the checkbox to attach the message you are composing once you send it. Enter an Attachment Description, Attachment Access Level, and Folder structure after saving or sending the email to attach it to the select account and item. You can also choose to automatically delete the selected email after attaching it.
Attach email attachments: If the selected email contains attachments, you can choose to add them to Applied Epic separately. This option includes all attachments on the email in the list of items to attach in Epic Bridge. You can remove attachments from this list if necessary (except for the email itself). You can edit each attachment’s description separately, but all other fields (such as Attach to item or Folder structure) apply to all attachments.
Add a new activity: You can create activities directly from Epic Bridge, in addition to attaching emails to existing activities. When you choose to attach an email to an activity, click the plus button beside the search field to create a new activity. Complete the required fields for the activity without having to leave Epic Bridge. You can use the arrow icon to open the new activity in Applied Epic.
Include contacts and attachments: Select an account while composing an email to include contacts and attachments from that account.
Use email templates: Select an account while composing an email to use a template from Configure > Email > Email Templates. Click the Templates button and select an Email Template, Branding Profile, and Signature. Then select a Contact, Policy/Line, Claim, and/or Transaction/Invoice to populate any merge variables in the template. These dropdowns allow you to search and view additional information to help you identify the correct item. You can even customize the columns in the advanced search.
Summarize an email: Use AI to summarize an entire email thread or just the most recent message. You can use the generated summary as an activity note when attaching the emails to an activity. However, you do not need to choose to attach to Epic to generate a summary.
Configure options: Select the gear icon in the bottom left corner to open the configuration page. This page displays environment details, allows you to log out of Epic Bridge if necessary, and enables you to configure default options for the following workflows:
Attach to Epic
Delete Emails After Attaching
Add Attachments Separately to Epic
Log into Epic Bridge using your Applied Epic credentials. Epic Bridge respects your Applied Epic security permissions and field defaults as you access items and perform workflows.
Epic Bridge is only available in the Applied Epic browser interface. It is available in all currently supported versions of Microsoft Outlook, as well as New Outlook. You can use it with both Outlook desktop access and Outlook on the web. If your organization currently uses the Applied Epic Outlook add-in, you may keep it installed, and even use both add-ins if you choose. However, only Epic Bridge is compatible with New Outlook.
Epic Bridge is only compatible with Microsoft Exchange Online. If your organization hosts your Microsoft Exchange server on-premises, Epic Bridge is not supported.
To ensure access and permissions for all of Epic Bridge’s capabilities, a Microsoft Admin must deploy Epic Bridge to your organization’s users. Do not install Epic Bridge on your own machine from Microsoft AppSource as an individual user. Refer to Installing Epic Bridge for detailed installation instructions.
An Epic Bridge Email Attached event has been added to Configure > Activity > System Events with the default code @OUT. This event creates an activity each time Epic Bridge attaches a file to Applied Epic.
An Epic Bridge option has been added to Configure > Email > System Settings and Configure > User Options > Email Settings Configuration to enable you to set Epic Bridge as the default for any integrated email workflows beginning in Applied Epic, either system-wide or at the individual user level. These workflows include the Send Via Email action, email hyperlinks throughout the system, and the Update options in the Follow Up section of the Add an Activity page.

PLAN-2242
Connection
TagsEpic Forms provide seamless integrations across multiple Applied solutions. While these integrations streamline your workflows, they also introduce the risk of unintended downstream consequences when you make changes to a form. It can also be easy to overlook fields that affect integrations while completing forms during servicing workflows.
Connection tags have been added to Epic Forms to clearly identify fields related to integrations, so you always know the relevant fields and can avoid disrupting connected workflows.
Form Builder: Connection tags display as link icons next to fields that drive integrations while you are customizing or building a form. Tags display in the Add field and Edit field pop-ups, and a warning message displays if you delete a connected field. The warning provides clear guidance about the integrations the field holds with other Applied solutions.
Data Capture: Connection tags display as link icons next to fields that drive integrations to help you focus on capturing the most critical data – while still completing all other fields to create accurate and complete submissions.
Targeted role: System administrators, servicing personnel

Allow Multiple
Suspended Direct Bill StatementsSome insurers may send you numerous direct bill commission statements every month (for example, per line of business or issuing location). Adding these statements to the system from email and working through them at month-end can be time-consuming, as the system has historically prevented users from adding a new statement in General Ledger > Reconciliations > Direct Bill Commissions when another statement with the same criteria already exists.
When carriers send multiple direct bill commission statements, processing them out of Suspense at month-end can be time-consuming, as the system has historically prevented users from adding a new statement in General Ledger > Reconciliations > Direct Bill Commissions when another statement with the same criteria already exists. This limitation meant that you had to finalize any suspended statements in the General Ledger before moving on to a new statement received from the carrier.
To eliminate this bottleneck and provide greater flexibility in your month-end reconciliation processes, you can now add a Direct Bill Commissions reconciliation statement to General Ledger > Reconciliations > Direct Bill Commissions when a suspended statement with the same criteria already exists. A prompt has been added to the existing Suspended Statements pop-up to give you the option to continue adding a duplicate statement. The system validates statements at the transaction level to keep you from reconciling the same transaction on two different statements.
To enable this feature, an Allow Multiple Suspended Statements option has been added to Configure > Accounting > System Settings > Direct Bill Commission Statements. This setting allows you to add multiple suspended statements by any method (manual creation, import, or download). This setting defaults disabled when your system is updated to Applied Epic November 2025 (meaning that the system will respect the previous restriction on multiple suspended statements unless you intentionally change it).
As a result of this change, the existing Multiple Suspended Statements per PPE option has been removed from Configure > Interface > System Settings, as it was redundant. When your system is updated to Applied Epic November 2025, the new accounting system setting will default based on your previous selection for the Interface system setting.
Targeted role: Accounting personnel

Regional
Format for Month-End Journal Entry Detail fileTo ensure that the Month-End Journal Entry Detail file generates with the formatting your workflows require (regardless of the language in which users access the system), you can specify the language used for the detail file independent of system-wide and user-level language settings.
A Regional Format dropdown menu has been added to the Month-End System Journal Detail File section of Configure > Accounting > System Settings, where you can specify the language used to generate the file. The three English settings use periods as decimal points and commas as delimiters in the generated CSV file. The French (Canada) setting uses commas for decimal points and semicolons as delimiters. Previously, decimal format was based on the Default Language in Configure > User Options > Region and Language, and delimiter format was based on the Primary Language in Configure > International > Regional Settings.
When your system is updated to Applied Epic November 2025, the Regional Format defaults to the language already selected in Configure > International > Regional Settings. The Regional Format dropdown is only available in the browser interface. However, the setting itself applies to all users, even if they access the system from the desktop interface.
Targeted role: System administrators, accounting personnel
PLAN-4837
Form Publishing EnhancementsFor more intuitive form management for organizations using Epic Forms across multiple databases, the form library in Configure > Policy > Policy/Plan Forms is once again fully shared across all of your databases, with new options for sharing changes to forms.
The option for publishing a form has been updated to Publish and Make Live. Publishing a form means committing the changes. Making the form live means that it is available for use in Configure > Policy > Types and on new and renewal policies.
When a form is published and only live in databases other than the one where you are viewing the Forms list, use the Make Live option in the form editor to make the form/edition live and visible in your current database as well. Forms in the list may have the following statuses:
Draft: Unpublished changes
Live: Published and live, can be used on policy types in the current database
Available: Published and live in another database, not usable on policy types in the current database
Update Available: A prior edition of this form is live in the current database, but a newer edition is published and live in another database. You can make this newer edition live in the current database when you are ready to enable it for use with new and renewal policies. The system will use the older live edition for new and renewal policies in the meantime.
As a result of these changes, the Import Edition option has been removed, as it is no longer necessary to import a form to make it available in other databases. With these changes, you can be sure that the form definition you create for testing purposes is the same form you eventually use in production, and you don’t need to edit templates made against that form to use them across databases.
The Edit Published Edition option remains available and has not changed. Updates made to a published edition are immediately available for use in every database where that the edition is live.
When your organization receives this change, the system handles existing forms in the following ways:
Forms originally created before Applied Epic Browser April 2025 (which were always available to all of your databases) are marked Live for all databases, so there is no change to their availability.
Forms created after Applied Epic Browser April 2025 (which were explicitly related to the Epic database where they were created) are marked Live for the database where they were created. Since the Policy/Plan Forms library is shared, these forms display as Available in other databases, where you can make them Live as needed. They will then be available in Configure > Policy > Types and on new and renewal business.
Targeted role: System administrators
