In today’s competitive market, managing renewals can require extensive manual work to gather and analyze data to answer client questions about renewal premium increases. Personal Lines Renewal Insights, available to agencies with Applied Epic Dashboards enabled, helps you provide quick answers to these questions.
PL Renewal Insights gives you access to critical renewal data in an Activity note and a PDF attachment, which offers a detailed breakdown of changes in the renewing policy. These tools simplify and expedite renewal comparisons and policy rewrites.
To enable the system to start creating insights, navigate to Configure > Activity > Codes and add activity code 7777 for Personal Auto insights and code 9999 for Homeowners insights. Set the Owner type for each code to either Specific Person or Specific Work Group. To streamline users’ workflows, Applied recommends setting these activities to default as closed successfully.
Once you have created these codes, PL Renewal Insights run daily at 3 a.m. Central Time for any policies renewed manually or by download the previous day. Insights display as a note on an activity associated to each of these policies and a PDF in the client’s Attachments list associated to each policy.
If your agency processes a high volume of personal lines renewals, you may want to consider setting up Policy Download to generate Premium Increase and Premium Decrease activities (as well as scheduling Download to run before 3 a.m. Central or setting up Instant Download). These activities can serve as reminders to review the corresponding PL Renewal Insights activities and attachments.
Targeted role: Servicing personnel
DAS-54, DAS-55
An issue has been resolved that sometimes prevented the system from releasing locks when you performed a workflow that included both modernized and non-modernized screens, then closed the navigation panel item (for example, opening a policy that uses a policy/plan form, then navigating to Servicing/Billing > Line). Previously, the system sometimes retained the lock, which led to errors such as failures to push plans to Applied Epic from Applied Benefits Designer.
EPIC-100355
Applied Pay payments automatically file even if the usercode that initiated the payment workflow has been deleted. Previously, deleting the associated usercode prevented payment transactions from filing.
EACT-5150
Only branches assigned to the client’s account are available for selection when you add a policy while taking payment via Premium Finance from the Account view of Payment from Client. Previously, branches displayed that were associated to the agency but not the client.
EPIC-102020
When you click the Auto Renumber button on the Renumber Scheduled Items pop-up, the button displays a loading icon, and you cannot click it or the Save button again until the system has finished renumbering items. Previously, this pop-up gave no indication that renumbering was in progress.
EPIC-101173
You can perform the Copy Report To action for all reports. Previously, the fields in the Copy Report pop-up failed to populate for some reports (such as Policy > Policy Book [By Producer]).
EPIC-102351
Entries save correctly in Configure > Accounting > GL Opening Balances. Previously, opening balances failed to display in the list on this page after you saved them, as well as saving without an association to a journal entry Refer #.
EPIC-73425
When you perform the Create Conversion Mapping action in Configure > Policy > Custom Forms, typing in the dropdown menu in the Target form change pop-up filters the dropdown options. Previously, typing in the dropdown had no effect.
ATX2-4303
In the Form Builder in Configure > Policy > Policy/Plan Forms, you can no longer add a title table column wider than the corresponding text area.
SF-7207
To help you identify custom form fields more easily when performing the Create Conversion Mapping action in Configure > Policy > Policy/Plan Forms, a Location in Custom Form column has been added to the Source Field dropdown. This column displays the hierarchical path to each field (Page Name > Group Box Name > Prompt Text). Previously, source fields were identified only by prompt text, which made it difficult to select the correct fields.
ATX2-1928
The edition number populates consistently for each edition of customized forms in Configure > Policy > Policy/Plan Forms. Previously, some forms for particular organizations were missing edition numbers.
SF-7140
In Configure > Policy > Policy/Plan Forms, the form name defaults as the Edition Name for the first edition of all forms created prior to Applied Epic May 2025. Previously, the Edition Name for these editions was blank.
SF-7174
You can filter the list of employees by Full Name, Usercode, and Department when performing the Copy Settings To action in Configure > Security > Users. Previously, filters were not available.
EPIC-102253
The Save button on the Copy Settings To pop-up in Configure > Security > Users displays a loading icon during processing. Previously, the button did not indicate that your changes were processing, and clicking it again resulted in the following message: One or more users are locked and cannot be edited.
EPIC-101175
Visual and minor functional enhancements have been made to the following pages and their associated pop-ups for a more modern look and feel. These enhancements may include changes to search and filtering capabilities, button labels, and lists of Available and Selected items.
