These release notes provide details about all changes and improvements
delivered in this release. The final scope of the release and accompanying
notes are subject to change before general release. If changes occur after
controlled release, a Change Log displays to document them. We encourage
you to review these release notes at general release as well as controlled
release. Items that require an updated Connection Suite component display
a plug icon .
Some items in this release require the latest version of the Epic Connection Suite Package (1.40.26). Since version 1.38.7, all versions of the Connection Suite package (including this one) include a Windows service called Applied Connection Suite Installer, which installs updates to the Connection Suite Package on your workstation automatically. Make sure this service is installed and running on all users' workstations.
If you are still installing Connection Suite Package updates manually, download the installation file from Help > Connection Suite or push this update to users’ workstations if your organization manages the installation for them. Applied recommends closing Microsoft Outlook before installing the package.
To provide more automated, flexible financing workflows, the Premium Finance option has been added to the Account view of the Payment from Client workflow. You no longer have to wait till a policy is added to the system or invoiced to create a Premium Finance agreement.
After selecting Premium Finance in the Account view, choose to Use Existing Policy and select one or more policies from the dropdown, or select Add New Policy. All policy types are available except Bonds and Benefits. Policy and line details default from existing policies to streamline the workflow. You must enter details manually if you are adding a new policy, and you cannot combine existing and new policies in the same financing workflow. Policies added on this page and changes to existing policies do not write back to the client’s policies in Applied Epic. You must add or edit them in the Policies area after completing the financing workflow (if necessary).
Enter Finance Detail information and copy or email the payment link to the client. The client can review and sign the finance agreement once the finance company has approved the policies for financing, make a down payment and set up installments, or pay in full. If the finance company does not approve the policies for financing, the client is prompted to pay in full. Your agency receives a more detailed payment confirmation email (including information on policy coverages, line type, and policy type) than for payments on invoices.
The payment files on the client’s account with the description Applied Pay - Premium Finance Down Payment and the structure associated to the policy when you initiated the payment session (if the client paid in full, the transaction description does not include “Down Payment”). The signed Premium Finance Agreement is added to the client’s attachments, and the Payment from Client activity generates if configured to do so. Enter the policy if it does not already exist, invoice it, and manually finance the invoice transactions. Before applying the payment to the invoice transactions, process the down payment (or the client’s payment in full, if applicable) onto a receipt.
The Premium Finance option is only available if your agency is registered to a Premium Finance Entity in Applied Pay. For more information on this feature, contact your Applied Pay Implementation point of contact. For more information about Embedded Premium Finance, contact your Applied Client Executive or Sales representative.

PLAN-2459
An issue that sometimes
caused Connection Suite updates to fail when you selected Install
in Help > Connection Suite
has been resolved. Previously, this issue caused
Microsoft .NET to stop unexpectedly and generated excessive
Event Viewer log entries.
EPIC-81639
Sending an email from
the Epic Outlook Add-In with the Attach
to Epic checkbox selected no longer causes the page to close
unexpectedly.
EPIC-84920
Policy variables populate in email templates inserted with the Applied Epic Outlook Add-in when you select the first policy in the list. Previously, they failed to populate in both the preview and the email sent.
EPIC-92427
The Provide Feedback option has been removed from the Help menu on the menubar, as Applied now uses other tools to request your feedback.
EPIC-98702
The full list of codes populates in the Activity Code dropdown after you clear the default Activity Category while adding an activity. Previously, only the first 100 codes populated.
EWFM-3868
Opening an attachment whose file name contains a dollar sign no longer causes a Program Alert error.
EPIC-92850
The Policy view of the Payment from Client page displays all policies that have a transaction with a debit balance. Previously, the list sometimes omitted some policies with debit balances if the client had more than 100 policies in their history.
EACT-4876
Applied Pay payment transactions no longer automatically apply to invoice transactions that have been reversed. Previously, the system automatically applied the payment to an invoice transaction if you reversed it after the Applied Pay payment link was created but before the payment transaction filed, resulting in an out-of-balance situation.
EACT-4778
The system retains your selection when you use the lookup button to change the Loc # selection in the Additional Interests section of the Property application. Previously, the Loc # reverted to the original selection when you clicked to another field.
EPIC-102518 - Resolved in hot fix, August 21, 2025
Selecting a holder on a certificate of insurance and performing the Update Holder Attachments action no longer causes the system to become unresponsive.
EPIC-81606
The system retains entries that you paste into fields immediately after closing a lookup pop-up (for example, the entity field on the Detail page of the Add a Receipt workflow). Previously, pasted entries sometimes failed to save, particularly over slower network connections.
EPIC-98899
The correct total amount, based on the vouchers selected, displays on the Pay Voucher page. Previously, the total reflected the amounts of all vouchers in the list, regardless of your selection.
EPIC-99750
System locks are cleared when you complete the Pay Vouchers action. Previously, the system sometimes retained the lock, which prevented other users from paying vouchers or printing checks.
EPIC-102047 - Resolved in hot fix, August 20, 2025
Jobs submitted from a modernized screen run successfully, regardless of the environment where your user account was created. Previously, jobs failed if you ran them in an environment other than the one in which your user account was originally created (such as a test environment).
EPIC-92150
Clicking the Save & Add Another button after adding a new option in Configure > Account > Agency Defined Categories returns the cursor to the Option field so you can begin typing the description of the next option. Previously, you had to click in the Option field before you could begin typing again.
EPIC-98996
You can select Specific Person or any servicing role as the Owner Type for the @APY (Applied Pay Payment Received) and @APL (Applied Pay Lockbox Received) activity codes in Configure > Activity > Codes. Previously, only Specific Work Group was available for these codes, and you had to assign them to the @APPAY Applied Pay Default Work Group. You can leave the codes assigned to this work group if you prefer, or select a different Owner Type option. The default @APR code for the return event (Applied Pay Refund/Void/Chargeback/NSF Payment) continues to require this work group as its owner. However, you can configure a different activity code for this event if you prefer to assign the activity to a different Owner Type.
EACT-4995
The same data variables are available to add to descriptions in Configure > Activity > Codes in the browser interface as in the desktop interface. Previously, some variables were only available in the desktop interface.
EPIC-93266
You can open a template for editing in Configure > Job Management > Fax Cover Pages if the Use same template for all languages option is selected. Previously, the template did not open.
EPIC-87547
Epic Forms that your organization created prior to Applied Epic May 2025 in Configure > Policy > Policy/Plan Forms are available in all of your organization’s databases, just as they were before the introduction of Form Editions. Previously, existing forms that were once shared across databases were associated to only a single database when you created new editions of them and removed from other databases.
ATX2-4112
A Required information is missing validation error no longer displays when you save changes to Configure > User Options > Customize Homebase with the default Activities to Display view set to Calendar.
EPIC-98837
