Drivers

The Drivers area enables you to enter information for drivers that would default onto Auto policy certificates. To access this area:

  1. Locate the desired account.
  2. In the navigation panel, click Account Detail > Drivers.

Add a Driver - Personal Lines

  1. Click the Add button.
  2. Enter the Brokerage Driver Number and Carrier Driver Number.
  3. Enter the driver’s name in the First Name, Middle Name, and Last Name (and Name Prefix/Name Suffix if applicable) fields.
  4. Click in the Birth Date field and select the date from the dropdown calendar.
  5. Choose the correct Gender and Marital Status.
  6. Click in the Date Hired field and select the date from the dropdown calendar.
  7. Enter the driver’s License Number.
  8. Select the License State/Province.
  9. Enter the License Class.
  10. Enter or select the Date First Licensed and Date Licensed in State/Province.
  11. The Primary Vehicle field enables you to select a vehicle entered under Vehicles for this insured.
  12. Enter information for up to two incidents in the Accident/Conviction frames.
    1. Choose the correct Date.
    2. Enter a Description of the accident or conviction.
    3. Enter the correct Place
    4. Select Yes or No for BI or Death.
    5. Enter the Amount of PD.
  13. Click Save to add the driver or Cancel to discard your changes.

Add a Driver - Commercial Lines

  1. Click the Add button.
  2. Enter the Brokerage Driver Number and Carrier Driver Number.
  3. Enter the driver’s name in the First Name, Middle Name, and Last Name (and Name Prefix/Name Suffix if applicable) fields.
  4. Click in the Birth Date field and select the date from the dropdown calendar.
  5. Choose the correct Gender and Marital Status.
  6. Click in the Date Hired field and select the date from the dropdown calendar.
  7. Enter the driver’s License Number.
  8. Select the License State/Province.
  9. Enter the License Class.
  10. Enter or select the Year First Licensed and Year Licensed in State/Province.
  11. Enter the number of Years Commercially Licensed.
  12. The Primary Vehicle field enables you to select a vehicle entered under Vehicles for this insured.
  13. Enter the Percent of Use for the selected vehicle.
  14. Choose the appropriate Policy Number(s). To multi-select policies, press [Ctrl] or [Shift] as you click the policies.
  15. Optionally enter a Terminal Number.
  16. Select the appropriate checkboxes:
  17. Enter information for up to two incidents in the Accident/Conviction frames.
    1. Choose the correct Date.
    2. Enter a Description of the accident or conviction.
    3. Enter the correct Place
    4. Select Yes or No for BI or Death.
    5. Enter the Amount of PD.
  18. Click Save to add the driver or Cancel to discard your changes.

Edit a Driver - Personal Lines

  1. Locate the appropriate driver. You can use the Search frame to narrow the drivers that display in the list. To remove a filter that has been applied, click Clear Filter.
  2. Click any of the information listed for the driver.
  3. Click Edit.
  4. Add or edit the Brokerage Driver Number and Carrier Driver Number.
  5. Optionally amend the driver’s name in the First Name, Middle Name, and Last Name (and Name Prefix/Name Suffix if applicable) fields.
  6. Click in the Birth Date field and select the date from the dropdown calendar.
  7. Choose the correct Gender and Marital Status.
  8. Click in the Date Hired field and select the date from the dropdown calendar.
  9. Select the License State/Province.
  10. Enter the License Class.
  11. Enter the Date First Licensed and Date First Licensed in State/Province.
  12. The Primary Vehicle field enables you to select a vehicle entered under Vehicles for this insured.
  13. Enter information for up to two incidents in the Accident/Conviction frames.
    1. Choose the correct Date.
    2. Enter a Description of the accident or conviction.
    3. Enter the correct Place
    4. Select Yes or No for BI or Death.
    5. Enter the Amount of PD.
  14. Click Save to apply your changes or Cancel to discard them.

  1. Locate the appropriate driver. You can use the Search frame to narrow the drivers that display in the list. To remove a filter that has been applied, click Clear Filter.
  2. Click any of the information listed for the driver.
  3. Click Edit.
  4. Add or edit the Brokerage Driver Number and Carrier Driver Number.
  5. Optionally amend the driver’s name in the First Name, Middle Name, and Last Name (and Name Prefix/Name Suffix if applicable) fields.
  6. Click in the Birth Date field and select the date from the dropdown calendar.
  7. Choose the correct Gender and Marital Status.
  8. Click in the Date Hired field and select the date from the dropdown calendar.
  9. Enter the driver’s License Number.
  10. Select the License State/Province.
  11. Enter the License Class.
  12. Enter or select the Year First Licensed and Year Licensed in State/Province.
  13. Enter the number of Years Commercially Licensed.
  14. The Primary Vehicle field enables you to select a vehicle entered under Vehicles for this insured.
  15. Enter the Percent of Use for the selected vehicle.
  16. Choose the appropriate Policy Number(s). To multi-select policies, press [Ctrl] or [Shift] as you click the policies.
  17. Optionally enter a Terminal Number.
  18. Select/Deselect the appropriate checkboxes:
  19. Enter information for up to two incidents in the Accident/Conviction frames.
    1. Choose the correct Date.
    2. Enter a Description of the accident or conviction.
    3. Enter the correct Place
    4. Select Yes or No for BI or Death.
    5. Enter the Amount of PD.
  20. Click Save to add the driver or Cancel to discard your changes.

Delete a Driver

  1. Locate the appropriate driver. You can use the Search frame to narrow the drivers that display in the list. To remove a filter that has been applied, click Clear Filter.
  2. Click any of the information listed for the driver.
  3. Click the Delete button. You are prompted, "Are you sure you want to delete?" Click OK.

Export Drivers

To make the updating of drivers faster and easier, you can export driver data to an external Microsoft Excel or tab delimited text file, make updates to the information as necessary, and then import the updated information into the system.

  1. Click Export on the options bar.
  2. Open or Save the resulting file.

Import Drivers

If you have driver data saved in an external Excel or tab delimited text file, you can use the import feature to automatically create the drivers in your system. The Import Drivers feature must be enabled for your organization.

The file must contain the following columns, in this exact order.

DriverKey 50 The DriverKey must be entered if this row represents an update to an existing driver. If there is no data in the DriverKey field or if a match is not found, a new driver is added.
If you are unsure of a driver's DriverKey, look at a driver export file.

You have the option of downloading an import template that you can fill out. (See instructions below.)

To import drivers:

  1. Click the Import button at the top of the list.
  2. If you wish to download a template, click the Help button, click the appropriate link, and fill out and save the template.
  3. Click the Browse button to locate the appropriate file.
  4. Click Import.
  5. Once the import is complete, the number of records added and updated displays on the screen.
