Change Effective/Expiry Dates

You cannot change the policy effective/expiry dates if the policy is a renewal, has been Issued, or has more than one service summary row.

  1. Locate the account and access the Policies area.
  2. A list of policies for the selected customer displays. Change the policies that display in the list if necessary.
  3. You can change the columns that display in the list if necessary.

    Note: Click the Sort Descending link to sort the policies by date starting with the most recent.
  4. Click on the policy in the list.

    Note: Monoline and package policies are in bold. Lines of business included in package policies are not bolded; they are indented and listed below the package policies to which they belong.

Note: You can also click Actions > Change Effective/Expiry Dates from the Policy Detail screen.

  1. If changes might be needed in other areas as a result of the date change, a message displays. Click Yes if you wish to continue.

  2. Enter a date in the Change effective date to field, or click the down arrow to the right of the field to select a date from the dropdown calendar.

  3. To apply the new effective date to service summary rows, click the Apply to link label. In the Apply To pop-up window, click the checkbox for every service summary row that should be changed to the new effective date, or click Select All to change the date for all of the rows. Click Finish.

  4. Enter a date in the Change expiry date to field, or click the down arrow to the right of the field to select a date from the dropdown calendar.

    Note: If you change the effective or expiry date so that a service summary row is then outside the date range, you must also change the date of the service summary row.

  5. To change the effective date of an individual service summary row, click the row in the Service Summary list. Enter a date in the Change row effective date to field or click the down arrow to the right of the field to select a date from the dropdown calendar.

    Note: You can change a service summary row dates without changing the policy dates. Service summary row dates changes must fall within policy term.

  6. Click Finish to complete the workflow.

    Click Cancel to close the screen without changing the effective and expiry dates.

    The service summary row displays with an asterisk beside the date to show that a change was made.
