Change Policy Prospective/Contracted Status

This action allows you to change a policy status. Use it when a client accepts a new policy quote and you need to begin the process of issuing the policy.

You cannot have contracted policies on a prospect. If you use this action on a prospect, you are prompted, "The client is a Prospect and cannot have contracted policies. Do you wish to update the client to Insured and the policy to Contracted?"

Under certain conditions, you can change back from Contracted to Prospective as long as the Service of Summary Row Stage is New/In Process, and no Certificates or Claims have been issued.

  1. Locate the account and access the Policies area.
  2. A list of policies for the selected customer displays. Change the policies that display in the list if necessary.
  3. You can change the columns that display in the list if necessary.

Note: Click the Sort Descending link to sort the policies by date starting with the most recent.
  4. Click on the policy in the list.

Note: Monoline and package policies are in bold. Lines of business included in package policies are not bolded; they are indented and listed below the package policies to which they belong.
