Government-maintained Do Not Call lists are distributed in XML or text formate. If you run Applied Epic in a LAN or WAN setup, you must manually import these files to update your records. If running Applied Epic in an online environment, the instructions below do not apply.
To ensure compliance, it is recommended that you update your system at least every 31 days. This process checks your contact numbers against the current Do Not Call list. For instructions, see Update Schedule.
Note: You can either log onto the actual machine or access the server via remote connection.
You must run the ASI.TAM.Tools.DNC.Import.exe utility from the Central Server that has Applied Epic Administration Tools installed. If the Administration Tools are not installed, do the following:
Navigate to the InitialInstalls_CentralServer shared folder on the Central Server: \\<ServerName>\InitialInstalls_CentralServer, where <ServerName> is the computer name of the Central Server.
Double click AdminToolsInstaller_<SERVERNAME>.EXE to run the installation program, with <SERVERNAME> being computer name of the Central Server.
When prompted on the SMART Install - Admin Tools screen, enter SystemAdmin for the User Code, enter the Password for that account (as noted during the initial Applied Epic system installation), and then click Next.
Click Close when the Summary of Actions screen displays.
Save the files to a location that is accessible from the Central Server. Depending on the size of the files, you might want to save them to separate directories, e.g., one directory per area code.
On the Central Server, navigate to C:\ASI\ASI.TAM\AdminTools\Software.
Double click ASI.TAM.Tools.DNC.Import.
A Sign On screen displays. Enter the SystemAdmin username and password that was created when Applied Epic was installed, and then click Login.
The Import Do Not Call List window displays. To select the file(s) you want to import, click the Browse button (...), navigate to the directory with the file(s) you want to import, and click Open.
Select the Delete files when finished and/or Include Subdirectories checkbox(es) if applicable.
Select the appropriate Do Not Call List country.
Unless other values are provided to you by Applied Systems' technical staff, leave the default value of 1000000 for the Batch Size and 0 for the SQL Server Timeout Interval.
Click Import. The files upload into Applied Epic database. After the import finishes, the process compares the numbers to existing numbers in the system and consolidates duplicates. This might take a while, depending on the size and number of files.
A Complete screen displays. Click OK to finish the import process.
The Import Do Not Call List screen displays again. If you need to import more files, go back to step 4. Otherwise, close the screen to exit the utility.
