Proposal Groups Configuration

This feature allows you to group proposal templates and documents. When you select a template or document in Applied Epic, you can select the group first, and then the individual item, eliminating some of the need to scroll through a lengthy dropdown menu.

Note: This article contains printing instructions that are only applicable if Applied Epic is installed locally on your computer. If you access Epic through a web browser such as Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, or Microsoft Edge, you cannot print directly from within the system. See Printing for more information about the printing capabilities available from Epic Browser. All other steps in this article are applicable to both methods of accessing Epic unless stated otherwise.

From the Home screen, do one of the following:

Click Configure on the navigation panel.
Click the down arrow next to Home on the menubar and select Configure.
Click Areas > Configure on the menubar.

From any other area of the program, do one of the following:

Click the down arrow to the right of the Home options bar button and select Configure.
Click Home > Configure on the menubar. The Configure screen displays.

Click Policy on the navigation panel or Areas > Policy on the menubar.

Click Proposal Groups on the navigation panel.

You can do the following from here:

Add a Proposal Group
1. Do one of the following:
  - Click the Add button to the left of the Proposal Groups list.
  - Press [Insert] on your keyboard.
2. The fields on the right are enabled. The active language displays in the Language dropdown menu and is based on your Primary Language as set up in Regional Settings Configuration.
3. Enter the new proposal group's name in the Title field.
  1. If you have more than one language available, the Title you enter populates for every language.
  2. To change the Title that will display in a different language, select the Language from the list or the dropdown menu and enter a Title.
  3. The Update matching descriptions in other languages options defaults as checked or unchecked based on your previous selection for it. The option cannot be changed during this workflow.
4. To add templates and/or documents to the group, do one of the following:
  - Click the Add button to the left of the Proposal Templates/Documents list.
  - Press [Insert] on your keyboard.
5. The Summary of Insurance Proposal Templates/Document window displays. Select the checkbox beside each item on the Proposal Templates and Proposal Documents tabs to be included in the group.
6. Click Finish.
Edit a Proposal Group
1. Click to highlight the group that you would like to edit, and then do one of the following:
  - Click the Edit button to the left of the Proposal Groups list.
  - Double click the group.
  - Press [Enter] on your keyboard.
2. Revise the Title as necessary.
  1. If the Update matching descriptions in other languages option is checked and descriptions for more than one language match, any change you make to one description will be applied to the other description after you click Finish. Deselect this box if you prefer to update each description individually.
3. To add a template or document to the group, do one of the following:
  - Click the Add button to the left of the Proposal Templates/Documents list.
  - Press [Insert] on your keyboard.
4. The Summary of Insurance Proposal Templates/Document window displays. Select the checkbox beside each item on the Proposal Templates and Proposal Documents tabs to be included in the group.
5. Click Finish.
  
  To remove a proposal or template from the group, click to highlight the item to be removed, and do one of the following:
  - Click the Delete button to the left of the list.
  - Press [Delete] on your keyboard.
Delete a Proposal Group
1. Click to highlight the group that you wish to delete in the list, and then do one of the following:
2. Click the Delete button to the left of the list.
  - Click File > Delete on the menubar.
  - Press [Delete] on your keyboard.
3. You are prompted: "Do you wish to delete this record?" Click Yes.
Print a List of Proposal Groups
1. To print the list of the proposal groups, do one of the following:
  - Click the Print button to the left of the list.
  - Click Print > Listview on the options bar.
  - Click File > Print > Listview on the menubar.
2. Print this list as you would any other document.
