Define Relationships

The relationship configuration feature allows you to keep track of accounts that are related to one another, such as a Parent/Child relationship.

Note: This article contains printing instructions that are only applicable if Applied Epic is installed locally on your computer. If you access Epic through a web browser such as Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, or Microsoft Edge, you cannot print directly from within the system. See Printing for more information about the printing capabilities available from Epic Browser. All other steps in this article are applicable to both methods of accessing Epic unless stated otherwise.

From the Home screen, do one of the following:

Click Configure on the navigation panel.
Click Areas > Configure on the menubar.
Click the down arrow next to Home on the options bar and select Configure.

From any other area of the program, do one of the following:

Click the down arrow to the right of the Home options bar button and select Configure.
Click Home > Configure on the menubar. The Configure screen displays

Click Account on the navigation panel, or Areas > Account on the menubar.

Click Define Relationships on the navigation panel.

You can do the following from here:

Add a Relationship
1. Do one of the following:
  - Click the Add button to the left of the list.
  - With focus on the list, press [Insert] on your keyboard.
2. Enter the new Relationship type in the field on the right.
3. Enter Role 1 in the relationship.
4. Enter Role 2 in the relationship.
5. Click Finish or press [Enter] to complete the record.
  
  Click Add to add this record and create another one.
  
  Click Cancel or press [Esc] to exit the workflow without saving changes. You are prompted: "Do you wish to discard changes?" Click Yes.
Edit a Relationship
1. Click to highlight the relationship that you wish to revise in the list.
2. Click the Edit button to the left of the list.
3. Amend the fields on the right as necessary.
4. Click Finish or press [Enter] to complete the record.
  
  Click Cancel or press [Esc] to exit the workflow without saving changes. You are prompted: "Do you wish to discard changes?" Click Yes.
Delete a Relationship
1. Click to highlight the relationship that you wish to delete in the list.
2. Do one of the following:
  - Click the Delete button to the left of the list.
  - Press [Delete] on your keyboard.
3. You are prompted: "Do you wish to delete this record?" Click Yes.
Inactivate/Reactivate a Relationship
1. If you want to reactivate a relationship, click the Include Inactive link label on the blue header bar.
2. Click to highlight the relationship that you wish to inactivate or reactivate in the list.
3. Do one of the following:
  - Click Actions > Inactivate/Reactivate on the options bar.
  - Click Actions > Inactivate/Reactivate on the menubar.
1. You are prompted to confirm that you want to inactivate or reactivate the selected relationship. Click Yes.
Print the List of Relationships
1. To print the list of relationships, do one of the following:
  - Click the Print button to the left of the list.
  - Click Print, Listview on the options bar.
  - Click File > Print > Listview on the menubar.
2. Print this list as you would any other document.
