In this area, you can configure settings and mapping files that allow users to perform the following accounting functions:
Note: This article contains printing instructions that are only applicable if Applied Epic is installed locally on your computer. If you access Epic through a web browser such as Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, or Microsoft Edge, you cannot print directly from within the system. See Printing for more information about the printing capabilities available from Epic Browser. All other steps in this article are applicable to both methods of accessing Epic unless stated otherwise.
From any other area of the program, do one of the following:
This function allows you to download direct bill commission statements from the carrier’s website and import them into the system.
Note: Mapping sets must contain all of the following fields:
The Policy Line Type field is optional. Entries in this field correspond to the policy type codes you have set up in Applied Epic, ensuring that direct bill transactions file for the correct line of business in a package policy.

Note: Select either the Comma Delimited or Semicolon Delimited option if you are importing a CSV file, depending on the character used as a delimiter between cells. If you are not sure which character is used as a delimiter, open the file in Microsoft Notepad to confirm. The delimiter is determined by the Windows Region/Language Settings of the workstation used to create the file. English-language workstations use commas, while French-language workstations use semicolons.

This function allows you to add and modify mapping files that are used to export your General Ledger account balances so that they can be analyzed using financial reporting software.
Note: General Ledger Export mapping files must include, at minimum, the following fields:

If the mapping file is associated to a General Ledger export batch, you cannot delete it. You should instead inactivate it to prevent it from being used in the future.
Note: Inactive mapping sets do not display in the list by default. To display inactive mapping sets, click the Include Inactive link label in the upper right corner of the screen. To hide them, click Exclude Inactive.
This function allows you to import recorded or budgeted GL account balances so that you can compare current figures against a budget or a previous time period. You can define a mapping set to match the workbook you want to import, mapping all columns in the workbook that do not apply to the budget as Do Not Import. You can also export a mapping set as a blank template in order to enter your figures.

This function allows you to match invoice information contained in lockbox feeds to invoices in open accounts receivable. That means that the system can enter the premium payments automatically once the bank deposits them so that you do not have to enter them manually.

This function allows you to import PPE and direct bill statements directly from carriers and automatically reconcile those imported statements against the items already billed in Applied Epic.
