Fax Cover Page Configuration

This function allows you to set up cover pages for faxes.

Note: This article contains printing instructions that are only applicable if Applied Epic is installed locally on your computer. If you access Epic through a web browser such as Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, or Microsoft Edge, you cannot print directly from within the system. See Printing for more information about the printing capabilities available from Epic Browser. All other steps in this article are applicable to both methods of accessing Epic unless stated otherwise.

From the Home screen, do one of the following:

Click Configure on the navigation panel.
Click the down arrow next to Home on the menubar and select Configure.
Click Areas > Configure on the menubar.

From any other area of the program, do one of the following:

Click the down arrow to the right of the Home options bar button and select Configure.
Click Home > Configure on the menubar. The Configure screen displays.

Click Job Management on the navigation panel or Areas > Job Management on the menubar.

Click Fax Cover Pages on the navigation panel.

You can do the following from here:

Add a Cover Page
1. Click the Add button to the left of the list.
2. The active language displays in the Language dropdown menu and is based on your Primary Language in Regional Settings Configuration.
3. Enter a Title for the cover page.
  1. If you have more than one language available, the Title you enter populates for every language.
  2. To change the Title that will display in a different language, select the Language from the list or the dropdown menu and enter a Title.
  3. The Update matching descriptions in other languages option defaults as checked or unchecked based on your previous selection for it. The option cannot be changed during this workflow.
4. Select the Use this cover page as the default cover page checkbox if applicable.
5. Click Finish or press [Enter] to complete the record. You are prompted, "Do you wish to create the template now?" Click Yes if you want to design the cover page at this time. Continue to step e.
  
  Click Add to add this record and create another one.
  
  Click Cancel or press [Esc] to exit the workflow without saving changes. You are prompted, "Do you wish to discard changes?" Click Yes.
6. Type the body of the cover page. For instructions on integrating Applied Epic data in your document, see Applied Epic/Word Integration.
7. When you are finished, click the X in the upper right corner, or click the Add-Ins tab and select Applied > Save & Exit.
Copy a Cover Page
1. Click to highlight the template you want to copy.
2. Do one of the following:
  - Click Actions > Copy Template on the options bar.
  - Click Actions > Copy Template on the menubar.
3. Select the appropriate option on the Copy Template screen:
  - Copy to new template
    If the template exists in multiple languages, select the Source language you want to copy. To copy all languages to the new template, leave the default selection of All.
    
    Enter a title for the new template in the Target title field.
    
    If you made a selection other than All in the Source language field, select the Target language.
  - Copy to existing template
    If the template exists in multiple languages, select the Source language you want to copy.
    
    Select the template to which you are copying from the Target title field.
    
    Select the Target language.
  - Copy to new language
    Select the Source language you want to copy.
    
    The Target title cannot be changed, as this option is used to copy between different versions of the same template. Select the Target language to which you are copying.
4. Click Finish or press [Enter] to complete the workflow. Click Cancel or press [Esc] to exit the workflow without copying the summary template. You are prompted, "Do you wish to discard changes?" Click Yes.
Edit Cover Page Information
1. Click on the cover page.
2. Click the Edit button to the left of the list.
3. Revise the cover page Title if applicable.
  1. If the Update matching descriptions in other languages option is checked and descriptions for more than one language match, any change you make to one description will be applied to the other description after you click Finish. Deselect this box if you prefer to update each description individually.
4. Select or deselect the Use this cover page as the default cover page checkbox as applicable.
5. Click Finish or press [Enter] to complete the record.
Click Cancel or press [Esc] to exit the workflow without saving changes.
Edit a Cover Page
1. Click the cover page and then do one of the following:
  - Click Actions > Edit Template on the options bar.
  - Click Actions > Edit Template on the menubar.
2. Make any necessary changes to the template. For instructions on integrating Applied Epic data in your document, see Applied Epic/Word Integration.
3. When you are finished, click the X in the upper right corner, or click the Add-Ins tab and select Applied > Save & Exit.
Delete a Cover Page
1. Click on the cover page.
2. Do one of the following:
  - Click the Delete button to the left of the list.
  - Press [Delete] on your keyboard.
3. You are prompted, "Do you wish to delete this record?" Click Yes.
Print a List of Cover Pages
1. To print a list of the cover pages in Applied Epic, do one of the following:
  - Click Print > Listview on the options bar.
  - Click File > Print > Listview on the menubar.
2. The Print window displays. Print this list as you would any other document.
