Claim Code Configuration

Claim codes are useful for reporting purposes, allowing you to categorize claims and monitor your organization's claim activity. You can associate claim codes to claim types in Claim Type Configuration.

Note: This article contains printing instructions that are only applicable if Applied Epic is installed locally on your computer. If you access Epic through a web browser such as Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, or Microsoft Edge, you cannot print directly from within the system. See Printing for more information about the printing capabilities available from Epic Browser. All other steps in this article are applicable to both methods of accessing Epic unless stated otherwise.

  1. From the Home screen, do one of the following:

From any other area of the program, do one of the following:

  1. Click Policy on the navigation panel or Areas > Policy on the menubar.
  2. Click Claim Codes on the navigation panel.
  3. A list of claim codes in your system displays. Ensure that Claim Codes is selected in the view filter. The ABI Codes view filter option is only applicable to brokerages in the United Kingdom.
  4. To change the sort order, click the column heading.

Claim Codes

The claim codes you define here are available for selection from the Claim code dropdown menu when you add or edit a claim.

ABI Codes

ABI codes are used by brokerages in the United Kingdom and are not applicable to North American organizations. To return to the Claim Codes list from the ABI Codes list, click on ABI Codes in the view filter and select Claim Codes.
