GL Class Code Configuration

Items added with this function display in the Class Code look-up on the Hazards form in policy detail for a general liability policy.

Note: This article contains printing instructions that are only applicable if Applied Epic is installed locally on your computer. If you access Epic through a web browser such as Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, or Microsoft Edge, you cannot print directly from within the system. See Printing for more information about the printing capabilities available from Epic Browser. All other steps in this article are applicable to both methods of accessing Epic unless stated otherwise.

From the Home screen, do one of the following:

Click Configure on the navigation panel.
Click the down arrow next to Home on the menubar and select Configure.
Click Areas > Configure on the menubar.

From any other area of the program, do one of the following:

Click the down arrow to the right of the Home options bar button and select Configure.
Click Home > Configure on the menubar. The Configure screen displays.

Click Policy on the navigation panel or Areas > Policy on the menubar.

Click GL Class Codes on the navigation panel.

To sort the list, click the heading of the column by which you want to sort.

You can do the following from here:

Add a GL Class Code
1. Do one of the following:
  - Click the Add button to the left of the list.
  - Click New > GL Class Codes on the options bar.
  - Click File > New > GL Class Codes on the menubar.
  - Press [Insert] on your keyboard.
2. Enter a Code up to seven letters long for the GL class code.
3. The active language displays in the Language dropdown menu and is based on your Primary Language in Regional Settings Configuration.
4. Enter a Description of the GL Class Code.
  1. If you have more than one language available, the Description you enter populates for every language.
  2. To change the Description that will display in a different language, select the Language from the list or the dropdown menu and enter a Description.
  3. The Update matching descriptions in other languages option defaults as checked or unchecked based on your previous selection for it. The option cannot be changed during this workflow.
5. Click Finish to complete the record.
  
  Click Add to add this record and create another one.
  
  Click Cancel or press [Esc] to exit the workflow without saving changes. You are prompted, "Do you wish to discard changes?" Click Yes.
Edit a GL Class Code
1. Click the class code to be revised and then do one of the following:
  - Click the Edit button to the left of the list.
  - Click File > Open on the menubar.
  - Double click the GL class code.
2. Change the information in the fields to the right and then click Finish or press [Enter].
  
  Click Cancel or press [Esc] to exit the workflow without saving changes. You are prompted, "Do you wish to discard changes?" Click Yes.
Delete a GL Class Code
1. Click the GL Class Code to be deleted and then do one of the following:
  - Click the Delete button to the left of the list.
  - Click File > Delete on the menubar.
  - Press [Delete] on your keyboard.
2. You are prompted, "Do you wish to delete this record?" Click Yes.
Print a List of GL Class Codes
1. To print a list of GL class codes, do one of the following:
  - Click the Print button to the left of the list.
  - Click Print > Listview on the options bar.
  - Click File > Print > Listview on the menubar.
2. The Print window displays. Print this list as you would any other document.
