Prefill Configuration

This feature allows you to create application prefills for specific lines of business so you do not have to enter the information manually. Click here for a list of forms that are available as prefills.

Note: This article contains printing instructions that are only applicable if Applied Epic is installed locally on your computer. If you access Epic through a web browser such as Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, or Microsoft Edge, you cannot print directly from within the system. See Printing for more information about the printing capabilities available from Epic Browser. All other steps in this article are applicable to both methods of accessing Epic unless stated otherwise.

From the Home screen, do one of the following:

Click Configure on the navigation panel.
Click the down arrow next to Home on the menubar and select Configure.
Click Areas > Configure on the menubar.

From any other area of the program, do one of the following:

Click the down arrow to the right of the Home options bar button and select Configure.
Click Home > Configure on the menubar. The Configure screen displays.

Click Policy on the navigation panel or Areas > Policy on the menubar.

Click Prefills on the navigation panel.

Click the word Prefills above the list and make a selection:

You can do the following from here:

Add a Prefill
1. Do one of the following:
  - Click the Add button to the left of the list.
  - Click New > Prefills on the options bar.
  - Click File > New > Prefills on the menubar.
  - Press [Insert] on your keyboard.
2. Enter a Description of the prefill.
3. Select the Application Detail, Custom Form, or Supplemental Screen to which the prefill applies.
4. Select an Issuing location from the dropdown menu if applicable.
5. If you want to default information from an existing prefill, choose the prefill in the Default from existing prefill dropdown menu.
6. If you are adding a prefill for a Supplemental Screen or Custom Form, select the appropriate radio button:
  - Overwrite all existing data: The prefill overwrites any existing information.
  - Only add to scheduled screens: Add new data only to scheduled screens without overwriting any existing information.
7. A confirmation screen displays. Click Yes.
8. Click Detail.
9. A limited version of the policy detail screen displays. On the navigation panel, access the forms to which to add the prefills. Any selections that you make or information that you add will default into the selected form(s). Close the screen after you have made all of the desired changes.
Edit a Prefill
1. Click to highlight the prefill in the list and then do one of the following:
  - Click the Edit button to the left of the list.
  - Double click the prefill.
2. Edit the Description of the prefill if necessary.
3. Optionally update the Application Detail, Custom Form, or Supplemental Screen to which the prefill applies.
4. Change the Issuing location if applicable.
5. If you want to default information from an existing prefill, choose the prefill in the Default from existing prefill dropdown menu.
6. If you are adding a prefill for a Supplemental Screen or Custom Form, select the appropriate radio button:
  - Overwrite all existing data: The prefill overwrites any existing information.
  - Only add to scheduled screens: Add new data only to scheduled screens without overwriting any existing information.
7. A confirmation screen displays. Click Yes.
8. Click Detail.

Inactivate/Reactivate a Prefill
1. Click the prefill in the list.
2. Do one of the following:
  - Click Actions > Inactivate/Reactivate on the options bar.
  - Click Actions > Inactivate/Reactivate on the menubar.
  - Right click the prefill and select Inactivate/Reactivate.
3. You are prompted to confirm the action. Click Yes.
Print a List of Prefills
1. To print the list of prefills, do one of the following:
  - Click the Print button to the left of the list.
  - Click Print > Listview on the options bar.
  - Click File > Print > Listview on the menubar.
2. Print this list as you would any other document.
