Company/Broker Mapping Configuration

If your agency uses Epic Quotes, map the companies/brokers that display in quoting workflows to companies/brokers in Applied Epic or vice versa. These mappings ensure that quoted policies are saved with the correct Issuing Company and Premium Payable entity, as the mappings determine the selections that default or are available for selection in these fields when a user accepts a quote (depending on whether a one-to-one or one-to-many relationship exists between rating companies/brokers and Epic companies/brokers). If no mappings are defined for a rating company/broker, all active Epic companies/brokers will be available for selection.

Before editing company or broker mappings, you must add accounts to your system for the corresponding companies or brokers and configure these entities on the Carriers tab in Quotes Setup. Mapping all companies/brokers with whom you actively do business is recommended.

Brokerages in the United Kingdom also configure Manual Quoting Companies/Brokers and Policy Types in this area for use in commercial lines quoting. These mappings are unnecessary for U.S. agencies, so you can disregard the Manual Quoting Companies/Brokers and Manual Quoting Policy Types options in the view filter.

Note: This article contains printing instructions that are only applicable if Applied Epic is installed locally on your computer. If you access Epic through a web browser such as Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, or Microsoft Edge, you cannot print directly from within the system. All other steps in this article are applicable to both methods of accessing Epic unless stated otherwise.

From the Home screen, do one of the following:

Click Configure on the navigation panel.
Click the down arrow next to Home on the menubar and select Configure.
Click Areas > Configure on the menubar.

From any other area of the program, do one of the following:

Click the down arrow to the right of the Home options bar button and select Configure.
Click Home > Configure on the menubar. The Configure screen displays.

Click Quotes on the navigation panel or Areas > Quotes on the menubar.
Click Company/Broker Mapping on the navigation panel.
The list of rating companies/brokers displays. To view the list of Epic Companies/Brokers instead, click Rating Companies/Brokers in the view filter and select Epic Companies/Brokers from the dropdown menu.
To sort the list, click the heading of the column by which you want to sort.

Mapping Rating Companies/Brokers

You can use this option to map multiple Epic companies/brokers to a single rating company/broker. The Rating Companies/Brokers list populates with the carriers selected on the Carriers tab in Quotes Setup.

You can do the following from the Rating Companies/Brokers list:

Edit a Mapping
1. Select a Company/Broker in the list and then do one of the following:

The Available list displays all companies in your system that are marked as Issuing companies (ICO) and/or Billing companies (PPE) on the Type/Billing tab of Company Detail and all brokers in your system marked as Premium payable entities (PPE) on the Accounting tab of Broker Detail. Select the Epic Companies/Brokers you want to map to the selected rating company/broker. Hold the [Ctrl] or [Shift] key while clicking to make multiple selections.
3. If you want to map inactive Epic Companies to the rating company/broker (for example, if you still have policies on cover with companies you have inactivated), click the Include Inactive link label in the header.
4. Click the down arrow to move your selections to the Selected list. To move a company/broker to the Available list, select it and click the up arrow.
5. Click Finish when you have assigned all necessary Epic companies/brokers to the rating company/broker, or click Cancel to discard your changes to the mapping.
Print a List of Mappings
1. To print the list of mappings, do one of the following:

Mapping Epic Companies/Brokers

If necessary, you can use this option to map multiple rating companies/brokers to a single Epic company/broker. The Rating Companies/Brokers list populates based on your company panel. The Epic Companies/Brokers list populates with the carriers selected on the Carriers tab of Quotes Setup. The Epic Companies/Brokers list populates with all companies in your system marked as Issuing companies (ICO) and/or Billing companies (PPE) on the Type/Billing tab of Company Detail and all brokers in your system marked as Premium payable entities (PPE) on the Accounting tab of Broker Detail.

You can do the following from the Epic Companies/Brokers list:

If you want to map to a rating company/broker to an inactive Epic company/broker (for example, if you still have policies on cover with an company you have inactivated), click the Include Inactive link label in the header to display inactive Epic companies/brokers in the list.
1. The Available list displays the carriers selected on the Carriers tab of Quotes Setup. Select the Rating Companies/Brokers you want to map to the selected Epic company/broker. Hold the [Ctrl] or [Shift] key while clicking to make multiple selections.
2. Click the down arrow to move your selections to the Selected list. To move a company/broker back to the Available list, select it and click the up arrow.
3. Click Finish to complete the mapping, or click Cancel to discard it.
Print a List of Mappings
1. To print the list of mappings, do one of the following:

Manual Quoting Companies/Brokers

Brokerages in the United Kingdom map Manual Quoting Companies/Brokers to policy types for use in commercial lines quoting workflows. These mappings are unnecessary for U.S. agencies, so you can disregard this view filter option. Select Rating Companies/Brokers or Epic Companies/Brokers in the view filter to continue configuring mappings for your agency.

Brokerages in the United Kingdom map policy types to Manual Quoting Companies/Brokers for use in commercial lines quoting workflows. These mappings are unnecessary for U.S. agencies, so you can disregard this view filter option. Select Rating Companies/Brokers or Epic Companies/Brokers in the view filter to continue configuring mappings for your agency.
