Export Custom Item

This feature allows you to enter custom forms and document templates in a non-production database for testing before pulling them into a live environment. It also lets you share custom forms among multiple locations running separate databases.

When exporting custom forms, you can also export any corresponding prefills and/or integrated fields.

1. From the Home screen, do one of the following:
   
   • Click Procedures on the navigation panel.
   • Click Areas > Procedures on the menubar.
   • Click the down arrow next to Home on the options bar and select Procedures.

From any other area of the program, do one of the following:

1. • Click the down arrow to the right of the Home options bar button and select Procedures.
   • Click Home > Procedures on the menubar.
2. Click Export on the navigation panel or Areas > Export on the menubar.
3. Click Custom Items on the navigation panel.
4. You can export the following items:
   • Attachment Templates
     1. Click the Attachment Templates tab.
     2. Click the Add button to the left of the Attachment Templates list.
     3. In the Available Templates window, click the words Attachment Templates in the view filter and select the type of template you want to export:
     • Master
     • Paragraph
     • Standard

     Exporting a master template also exports any paragraph templates it contains. See Attachment Templates Configuration for more information on template types.

     4. Select the checkbox for each template you want to export.
     5. Click Add to add the selected templates to the export and make additional selections (for example, if you want change the view filter selection and select templates of a different type).
        
        Click Finish to add the selected templates to the export and close the Available Templates window.
        
        Click Cancel to close the window without adding templates to the export.
     6. Click on a template in the list to view its detail on the right. If the template exists in multiple languages, uncheck any languages you do not want to export in the Languages frame.
   • SOI/Proposal Templates
     1. Click the Summary/Proposal Templates tab.
     2. Click the Add button to the left of the Templates list.
     3. In the Available Templates window, select the checkbox beside each template you would like to export.
     4. Click Finish to choose the checked items, or click Add to choose additional templates.
     5. Click on a template in the list to view its detail in the frames on the right. If the template exists in multiple languages, uncheck any languages you do not want to export in the Languages frame.
     6. Click on a template in the list to view any proposal groups to which it belongs.
   • SOI Cover Pages/Proposal Documents
     1. Click the Summary Cover Pages/Proposal Documents tab.
     2. Click the Add button to the left of the Templates list.
     3. In the Available Templates window, select the checkbox beside each template you would like to export.
     4. Click Finish to choose the checked items, or click Add to choose additional templates.
     5. Click on a template in the list to view its detail in the frames on the right. If the template exists in multiple languages, uncheck any languages you do not want to export in the Languages frame.
     6. Click on a template in the list to view any proposal groups to which it belongs.
   • Fax Cover Pages
     1. Click the Fax Cover Pages tab.
     2. Click the Add button to the left of the Fax Cover Pages list.
     3. In the Available Templates window, select the checkbox beside each template you would like to export.
     4. Click Finish to choose the checked items, or click Add to choose additional templates.
     5. Click the Export button.
     6. Browse to the folder where you would like to save the exported files, enter a File name, and click Save.
     7. The documents are saved in a zip file. To import them into a new database, log out of Applied Epic, sign in on a new database, and follow the instructions in the Import Custom Item article.
   • Custom Forms
     1. Click the Custom Forms tab.
     2. Click the Add button to the left of the Templates list.
     3. In the Available Custom Forms window, select the checkbox beside each form you would like to export.
     4. Click Finish to choose the checked items, or click Add to choose additional forms.
     5. Click on a form in the list to view its detail on the right.
     6. For each form, select the checkbox for each common screen you want to export:
        • Additional coverages
        • Additional interests
        • Forms and endorsements
        • Remarks
     7. Select the Custom form export templates and integrations checkbox in the Custom Form Export Integrations section if you want to export the templates and integration fields associated with the selected custom form.
     8. Select the Custom form import integrations checkbox if you want to export the form import integrations associated with the selected custom form.
     9. Optionally select the checkbox to Include prefills in the export.
     10. The Custom Screens section is informational only. It lists the custom screens associated with the form and indicates whether they are scheduled.
   • Supplemental Screens
     1. Click the Supplemental Screens tab.
     2. Click the Add button to the left of the Supplemental Screens list.
     3. In the Available Templates window, select the checkbox beside each template you would like to export.
     4. Click Finish to choose the checked items, or click Add to choose additional templates.
     5. Click on a template in the list to view its information to the right.
   • Document View
     1. Click the Document View tab.
     2. Click the Add button to the left of the list.
     3. In the Available Document View Screens pop-up window, select the checkbox beside each document view you want to export and then click Finish.
     4. Click on a document view in the list to view its application detail, worksheets, and columns on the right. 
5. Click the Export button.
6. The location where the file saves depends on the way you access Applied Epic:
• If you access Epic through a web browser, the file saves to your browser's default Downloads folder.
• If Epic is installed locally on your computer, browse to the folder where you want to save the exported file, enter a File name, and click Save.
  
  The screens are saved in a ZIP file. To import them into a new database, log out of Applied Epic, sign in on a new database, and follow the instructions in the Import Custom Item article.
