Associate Attachment(s) to an Existing Attachment

You can associate multiple attachments to an existing activity list via drag and drop, or Image Router.

Important! When closing Home Base, Applied TAM verifies that all temporary files are deleted and all attachments are closed. If any attachments are open, the Open Attachments window displays listing the attachment files that are open. In order to exit Applied TAM, all attachments must be closed. See the Introduction to TAM article for more information.

Drag and Drop

Drag and drop is the best way to add attachments. You can drag files into Applied TAM from any folder on your computer or you can drag email from Outlook or Lotus Notes, or Applied TAM's Email area. Just drop the files onto the activity in the list. Below are the detailed steps to complete this process.

  1. At Home Base, click Clients & Files.
  2. Select the entity type from the dropdown menu.
  3. Select the desired account in the list.
  4. Click the Attachment List button.
  5. Locate and select the attachment to which you want the file(s) to be attached.
  6. Find the files on your computer. You can select multiple items by pressing [Ctrl] as you click the files you wish to attach.
  7. Drag the files and drop them onto the attachment item in the list in Applied TAM. The Efiling - File Router window displays.
  8. Enter the Routing Information and click Attach Files when you are done. If you dragged multiple attachments, you may either apply the settings to all of the attachments, group the attachments, or use the Prev/Next buttons to enter specific information for each. You can use the fields in the Attach To section to add further details and to specify whether to attach the item(s) to an existing activity or an existing attachment.
  9. Click OK to close the attachment confirmation screen.
  10. To close the File Router, click Close.

Image Router

You can also associate attachments to an existing attachment using the Image Router.

To Open the Image Router from Home Base

  1. At Home Base, click Utilities.
  2. On the Utility Manager screen, open the System Administrative folder in the treeview.
  3. Open the Imaging folder and select Image Router.
  4. Click the arrow to continue.

To Open the Image Router from the Attachment list

  1. Click the Options button.
  2. Select Workflows > Efiling > Acquire and Attach Image.

The Image Router displays, which also contains the Activity/Attachment section described above. If you opened the Image Router from a customer screen, the selected client's Entity Type and Entity Code default into the Attach To frame.

  1. If the file you want to attach does not display in the Available Files list, use the Browse button to locate the directory or folder in which it is saved.
  2. From the Available Files list, select the file(s) you wish to attach and use the arrow(s) to move your selection to the Selected Files list.
Note: To open a file in either list before attaching it, double click the file. Double clicking a file in these lists does not move the file from one list to the other. You must then use the arrows to move files.
  3. Click Next.
  4. Enter the Routing Information and then click Attach Files.
  5. If you chose to enter an attachment, enter the attachment information and click OK. Click OK to confirm the attachment entry.
  6. Click OK to close the attachment confirmation screen.
