Real-Time Interface

The Real-Time Interface allows you to communicate and share data with insurance companies over the Internet. This means that you can run inquiries and conduct transactions in a matter of seconds.

To access the Real-Time, click the Real-Time Interface icon from a customer or prospect account or from the Policies or Claims list and select Real-Time Interface ([Ctrl]+R). If this is your first time accessing Real-Time, you will be guided through the Initial Account Setup Wizard.

The Real-Time Interface screen contains the following areas.

Account Tab

Account Information

The top left corner of the screen displays the contact information for the client whose account you were viewing when you launched Real-Time, as well as the line of business, issuing company, and effective/expiration dates for the row currently selected in the Policy List frame.

Inquiries/Transactions

This area lists all the actions currently available for the selected carrier and line of business. This list populates on transactions that are available for the line of business you choose.

Options link

The contents of the top right corner of the screen depend on your selections in the Policy List and Inquiries/Transactions frames. If you were running a rate, a list of available carriers might display here. If you were obtaining an MVR, a list of drivers associated with the selected account would display. If you were running an inquiry, you would be able to select the appropriate date range.

The Go! button above the Options frame enables you to transmit the information to the carrier(s) selected.

Policy List

A list of policies for the current account displays. To determine what policies the list contains, click the Current or Future radio button. You may also check Package to enable you to send information for multiple policies at the same time (some carriers do not allow this, and the carrier list will filter accordingly). To select multiple policies, you would press the [CTRL] key while clicking.

Admin Tab

When you click the Admin tab, the bottom half of the screen contains the following areas.

Clients

Here you can opt to view information for a different client.

  1. Click the Customer or Prospect radio button.
  2. Enter the appropriate code in the field below, or click the Client Code link label to search for the desired client. Click OK.
  3. You are returned to the Account tab, which now displays information for the newly selected client.

Company Websites Tab

When you click the Company Websites tab, the bottom half of the screen contains a company code field and a list of companies. If you do not wish to scroll through the list of companies, enter the correct Company Code and press [Enter]. Double click a company to be taken to its website if available.
