Rebuild Line of Business Indicators

When you install a policy type through Install Policy Types in the Utility Manager, you must indicate whether the policy type is Personal, Commercial, or Life. Each time this policy type is entered for a customer or a transaction is filed, a Line of Business indicator is placed in POLICY.DBF and TRANSACT.DBF.

Occasionally, the indicators are incorrect. This may happen, for example, when a policy initially set up as a personal account has been changed to a commercial account. You may detect this error when you run a report for commercial lines of business and some policies matching the criteria do not display. The Rebuild Line of Business Indicators utility updates your records with the current, correct line of business indicator in both POLICY.DBF and TRANSACT.DBF.
