Update Journal Entries

Use this option to correct any incorrect miscellaneous journal entries. TAM does not let you file an out-of-balance entry. Errors can occur, however, such as typing the wrong description or schedule for an entry or applying the entry against the wrong account. When using this option, keep the following items in mind:

  1. From Home Base, click the Accounting button.
  2. Click Journal Entries.
  3. Click Update Journal Entries.
  4. Double click in the Agency field to select the desired agency. If only one agency has been installed, the agency code defaults.

    The program automatically displays the last journal entry number in the Last J/E # field.
  5. Enter the number of the journal entry to update in the J/E Number field and press [TAB]. The journal entry information displays on the screen. See Enter Journal Entries for more information on revising the fields on the Update Journal Entries screen.
  6. Click OK to file the updated journal entry.
  7. Repeat steps 4 through 6 for each journal entry you update.
