Add a Commercial Package Policy

This example adds a package policy with both Property and General Liability coverages.

  1. At Home Base, click Clients & Files.
  2. From the dropdown menu above the list, select Customers.
  3. Select a customer.
  4. Click the Policy List button.
  5. Click the Add button below the button bar to add the new Policy Detail.
  6. In the Type field, select PCKG.

    Note:
If your system does not have this policy type, your agency may have set up a custom-named commercial package policy type. Double click the Type field to review the list of policy types. If no commercial package policy type exists, add one through Install Policy Types.
  7. Complete the New Policy Detail screen and click OK to return to the Policy List. The new policy displays at the bottom of the list.
  8. Next, add the PROPERTY and GENERAL LIABILITY subsections to the PCKG policy. Highlight the PCKG policy and click Detail. The package policy's Billing Screen displays.
  9. Click Add from the Billing Screen and add the PROPERTY policy. This designates PROPERTY as a subsection of the PCKG. Repeat this process to add the GENERAL LIABILITY subsection.

The Policy List displays the new policies. The two subsections are listed as # 1002, 1003, etc.

  1. Now create the applications for your PCKG policy. When you finish the commercial application, open the File menu and select Open to complete another new application. Repeat this until all applications have been completed. From the Policy List screen, you can also access the subapplications. Highlight the PROP policy, click Options, and select Current App
  2. When one application is open within the package policy, click File and select Open to open the other applications. If your agency downloads policies, have the download session update your client with the application.
