Attach a File via Drag and Drop

You can attach a file to any entity (e.g., customer, prospect, broker, etc.), policy, or claim by dragging it from a folder or from Outlook and dropping it where you want it. You can attach just one item at a time, or you can attach multiple files at once. TAM adds the attachments using the Efiling File Router, so you can use all the same options as any other attachments.

Important! When closing Home Base, Applied TAM verifies that all temporary files are deleted and all attachments are closed. If any attachments are open, the Open Attachments window displays listing the attachment files that are open. In order to exit Applied TAM, all attachments must be closed. See the Introduction to TAM article for more information.

  1. From Home Base, click Clients & Files.
  2. From the dropdown menu above the list, select the entity type (Customer, Prospect, Broker, etc.) to which you wish to attach the file. If you want the file attached to a policy or claim, select Customer or Prospect and click the Policy List or Claim List button.

    Note:
Only customers have a claim list.
  3. Click the entity, policy, or claim to select it.
  4. Open the folder where the file is saved or open Outlook. Select the file(s) or message(s) that you want to attach. You can select multiple files/messages.
  5. Drag the items to the entity, policy, or claim list in TAM.
  6. The Efiling - File Router screen displays. Complete the information as you see fit. See Routing Information for Efiling for more information.
