MVR & AutoPlus Reports

Applied Rating Services enables you to order MVR and AutoPlus reports on drivers during the auto quote process in AutoRater.

Ordering MVR and AutoPlus Reports

MVR and AutoPlus reports are ordered on the Carrier Detail screen. To order one of these reports, complete the following steps:

  1. From the Underwriting screen in AutoRater on the Drivers tab, enter the First Name, Last Name, Driver's Licence Number and Date of Birth of the driver, if it has not already been entered.
  2. Click the Quote button to quote the auto policy.

    Note: MVR/AutoPlus can also be accessed from the underwriting screens by clicking Quote > MVR/AutoPlus on the menubar.
  3. The Premium Summary screen displays. To select a carrier to order the MVR and/or AutoPlus report(s), click on the carrier name in the Summary panel, or click on the carrier name in the list of carriers that display on the left side of the screen

    Note: A carrier needs to be selected to order the MVR and/or AutoPlus report(s).
  4. To access MVR / Auto Plus Reports from the Carrier Detail screen, do one of the following:
  1. On the MVR / AutoPlus Reports screen, check the MVR and/or AutoPlus checkboxes beside each driver that you want to order a report for. If you want to order a MVR and/or AutoPlus report(s) for all drivers listed, click the Select All button.
  2. Select the insurer for the MVR and/or AutoPlus report(s) being requested in the Sponsor – MVR and Sponsor - AutoPlus dropdowns.
  3. Your User ID defaults in the corresponding field. You must enter your password if you have not ordered a report previously today.
  4. To disregard duplicates, check the Override duplicate MVR checkbox.
  5. Click the Order Reports button.

    Note: To ensure the ordered reports are received, do not exit AutoRater during the report retrieval process.
  6. In Alberta, Newfoundland and Labrador, the MVR report is not immediately available. After the reports are ordered, a message displays in the MVR Status tab: Immediate report not available. Please us the Pending MVR Report utility to retrieve the ordered report. To retrieve the report, click the Retrieve Pending MVR Report button.

    On the Pending MVR Reports screen, select the driver you want to retrieve the report for and click the Retrieve Report button to retrieve the ordered report.

    If there are multiple pending MVRs in the list when you click the Retrieve Report button, a message displays asking Would you like to retrieve all associated reports? Click Yes to request all reports, or click No to only request the selected report.

    You are returned to the MVR /AutoPlus Reports screen if the report(s) were available. If the pending report(s) are still not available, a message displays stating Report still pending. Please try again. It can take up to 24 hours to retrieve a non-immediate report. Click OK on the message screen to close it.
  7. Click the Existing AutoPlus button to access the convictions information and/or click the Existing MVR button to access the claims information.

    Note: If there are any existing claims or convictions for the driver, a red exclamation mark will display next to the buttons that contain the date the report was ordered.

    If there is a discrepancy between fields in the MVR request and the MVR responses, the date will display in red on the buttons.  To identify the source of the discrepancy, review the following fields: Licence Number, Name (Last Name), Date of Birth, Gender, Class, Conditions, Status, and Issue Date.

  8. Click the Close button to close the screen when finished.

Interpreting the Information from the MVR and AutoPlus Reports

Once the MVR and/or AutoPlus reports has been generated, you can interpret them by printing the report(s) along with viewing and adding the claims, convictions, and suspensions from the reports for the selected driver(s).
