PreFill to Auto
Using the Applied prefill feature when quoting an automobile in Applied
Rating Services reduces the time spent on data entry and expedites the
quoting process.
- To add a client, do one of the following:
- Click the New
Client button on the options bar
- Click the Add
button in the Client Information side toolbar
- Click Client
> New on the menubar
To edit a client, do one of the following:
- Click the Edit
button in the Client Information side toolbar
- Click Client
> Modify on the menubar
- The Add / Modify Client
screen displays. Click the Prefill
Client button and select PreFill
to Auto Quote from the menu.
- Enter the client’s Driver’s
Licence number and Province
for the licence entered in the corresponding fields, then click OK.
Note: Read
the disclaimer to the client before entering their information.
- The Name Assignment screen
displays with names populated in the name fields. If the names are
correct, click OK.
If the name(s) in the field(s) are incorrect,
complete the following steps:
- Click the Clear
button
next to the name that needs to be cleared,
or if all names needs to be cleared, click the Clear All button.
Note:
If a field is accidently cleared or an incorrect edit has been
made to a name, click the Revert
button
next to the name that needs to be reverted
to the default. If all names need to be reverted, click the Revert All
button.
- Drag and drop each name segment into the correct fields. Multiple
names can be dragged and dropped into the same field.
Note:
The fields can also be filled out manually if additional items
need to be added e.g., hyphens and commas).
- The
Address Assignment screen
displays with the address populated in the address fields. Make changes
to the address if necessary. Once the address is correct, click OK.
If you do not wish to override the existing address with the address
displaying on the Address Assignment
screen, click the Skip
button.
Note: If
there is no address returned, this screen will not display.
If the address displaying in the fields is incorrect, click the Clear button
next
to the name that needs to be cleared, or if all names needs to be
cleared, click the Clear
All button.
Note: If
a field is accidently cleared or an incorrect edit has been made to
field, click the

next to the field that
needs to be reverted to the default. If all fields need to be reverted,
click the Revert
All button.

If you are unsure of the address structure, place your cursor over
the
icon
to view how the address displayed in the report.
- The
Applicant Assignment screen
displays. Select the appropriate Policy/Carrier
from the dropdown list if the default policy is not correct.
- Next, select the Applicant
and Co-Applicant
from the corresponding dropdown menus; click OK
when finished.
Note: If
the client is not already in the system, the client will be created
after you click OK
on this screen.
- AutoRater launches and the Quote
information screen displays. If needed, complete or edit the
information that displays; then click OK.
- The Prefill Results screen
displays. The Policy/Carrier that was selected on the Applicant
Assignment screen defaults in the Policies
dropdown. Click the dropdown menu to select a different policy or
to select all policies if needed.
Next, select the vehicle(s) and driver(s) from the PreFill results
to be populated into Applied AutoRater. Select the desired vehicle
or driver in the list and click the Add
button
to add it to the User
Selection list. To add all the vehicles and drivers to the
User Selection list, click
the Add All
button
.
Note: You
can also make a selection by double clicking on the specific drivers
or vehicles to be added to the list, or to add all the drivers or
vehicles to the list, double click on the DRIVERS
or VEHICLES
title.
Click OK
when you have finished making your selections.
- The auto quote screen displays. The Year,
Make, Model, VICC Code, Body Style, Fuel Type, Cylinders, List Price
New, and Primary Use
fields (if available) on the Vehicles
tab automatically populate in from the prefill.
Note: The
vehicle coverage is not affected and will still populate according
to the defaults set by either Applied Rating Services or the user.
- On the Drivers tab, the
following fields populate automatically from the prefill: Name,
Relationship to Applicant, Licence Number, Province, Marital Status,
Gender, and Date of Birth
/ Age (if available). Claims,
Convictions, Suspensions, Insurance Lapse, and/or Fraud
/Misrep. display in the Incidents
section, if applicable.
- Continue completing the auto
quote in Applied AutoRater as normal. Exit AutoRater by clicking
File > Exit on the menubar.
You will be brought to the Desktop
Navigation screen; the auto quote displays in the Quote
Summary section for the selected client on the Desktop
Navigation screen.
