Edit a Drip Campaign

Depending on a drip campaign’s status, different parts of it may be available for editing:

You can hide Active or Completed drip campaigns that you no longer need to access regularly. Hiding drip campaigns removes them from the default Campaigns list, but you can display them by selecting the Show Hidden checkbox. Click the Show link to restore a hidden drip campaign to the default list. Hiding a drip campaign does not affect any scheduled distributions.

If necessary, you can end an Active drip campaign, either immediately (End Now) or by sending the remaining emails to existing recipients only (Taper Off). See the End Drip Campaign section for more information about these options.

See Campaigns for information about the types of campaigns available.

Edit a Draft or Scheduled Drip Campaign

Perform the following steps to edit a drip campaign with a Draft or Scheduled status. You cannot modify the delivery schedule of a Scheduled drip campaign.

  1. Click Campaigns or My Campaigns in the navigation menu. If necessary, you can sort or filter the list to help you locate a campaign:
  2. To access the Drip Campaign Builder page, click the Campaign Name in the list.
  3. From the Drip Campaign Builder page, you can do any of the following:
  4. Before you start the drip campaign, you can send a test email to ensure that all content displays as intended.

Edit an Active Drip Campaign

You cannot make as many kinds of changes to Active drip campaigns as Draft or Scheduled drip campaigns. You can temporarily pause an Active drip campaign to edit its overall Campaign Settings, Email Builder settings, and existing email content for future recipients. The original campaign continues to send emails to existing recipients until you publish your changes. Only new recipients receive the edited campaign emails (emails are not resent to recipients who have already received them).

Changes to Active drip campaigns are not saved until you publish them. Depending on the changes you need to make, it may be better to create a new drip campaign than to edit an active one. Consider these limitations to guide your decision:

To edit the campaign settings or email content of an Active drip campaign, do the following:

  1. Locate the campaign from the list on the Campaigns or My Campaigns page. If necessary, you can sort or filter the list to help you locate a campaign:
  2. Click on the Campaign Name to open it.
  3. On the Drip Campaign Details page, click the Edit Campaign button.
  4. The Edit Active Campaign pop-up window displays. Click the Edit button. None of your changes will be applied until you publish them.
  5. Make changes to any of the following:
  6. If you are using Dynamic Branding and Servicing, check for any exceptions, which are problems that prevent certain contacts from receiving campaign emails.
    1. Click the Continue button to check for exceptions. The Exceptions label on displays if exceptions exist.
    2. Click the link beside Exceptions to view the contacts with exceptions and the reasons.
    3. Click the Export to CSV button to export the exception list if necessary.
  7. To save your changes and apply them to campaign emails sent to new recipients, click the Publish Changes button. Your changes will only be sent to new recipients. Edited emails are not resent to existing recipients. To discard your changes and return to the campaign to its previous saved state, click the Cancel lin
