View Transaction Detail - Agency Commission Section

The Agency Commission section displays all invoiced and earned commission for both agency and direct bill business. If a transaction has been reversed or if it is a reversing item, information displays for both the original and the reversing transactions.

Accrued/Deferred List

The options available for the view filter at the top of this list vary according to your system setup and whether the transaction is a service fee that includes a revenue deferral schedule.

If the transaction does not include a revenue deferral schedule, the list defaults as Accrued. If your system is set up to share revenue in System Settings, you can also select the Accrued – Share Revenue view.

If the transaction does include a revenue deferral schedule, the list defaults as Deferred – Accrued. If your system is set up to share revenue in System Settings, you can also select the Deferred – Accrued – Share Revenue view.

Process rows in the Accrued lists show all items invoiced. They represent the following (per commission split):

Process rows in the Deferred lists represent installments in the revenue deferral schedule.

To sort by any of the columns in the Accrued/Deferred list, click the column heading. Click the column heading again to sort in the reverse order.

The Commission invoiced and Commission adjusted (result of a total of all ADJO process row amounts) totals below the list combine to provide the Total accrued commission.

Note: If the transaction is attached to the account rather than to a policy or line, the Line, Policy Number, ICO, and PPE columns are blank.

Split #: Number of the commission split. If split commissions do not exist on the item, it displays as 1.
Line: The line of business to which the transaction is attached (if transaction was attached at the line level, or attached to a package policy with commission amounts split by line). If the transaction is attached at the policy level with no line splits, this column displays the policy type (for example, CPKG).
Policy Number: Policy number being billed. If the policy billed is a multi-carrier policy, the policy number for the participation split displays, rather than the policy number for the main policy.
Generate: Generate invoice date.
Acctg Month: In the Accrued lists, this represents the accounting month per process row. In the Deferred lists, this represents the month in which this portion of the revenue is due.
Trans: Transaction code. Displays the code for the original transaction, except for ADJO or RVPM rows.
Trans Amt: Amount for the process row. In a revenue deferral schedule, this is the amount for the individual installment.
ICO: Issuing company lookup code.
PPE Type: Type of premium payable entity. Can be CA (carrier), BR (external broker), or IN (internal broker).
PPE: Company/premium payable broker code.
Agcy Com Type: Can be % (percentage) or $ (flat fee).
Agcy Com %: Agency commission percentage, if applicable. For revenue deferral schedule items, this column displays the percentage of the transaction total included in this installment. For ADJO/RVPM rows, it displays the difference in agency commission percentage.
Agcy Com Amt: Agency commission amount. For revenue deferral schedule items, this column displays the dollar amount of the individual installment. For ADJO/RVPM rows, it displays the difference in agency commission amount.

To add any of these columns to the list, click Select Columns and select the checkboxes for the ones you want to display. You can also click the arrow buttons in the Select Columns window to reorder the columns.

Co Pay Status
- This represents the premium payable status per split and can be O (open) or C (closed). If premium payable status does not apply to this process row, nothing displays in the column.

- This represents the receivable status for the transaction as a whole. If the receivable balance for the transaction is $0.00, this displays as C (closed). Otherwise it displays as O (open).

- Displays Yes if process row represents a reversed or reversing entry; otherwise blank.

Earned List

Five different view options are available for the Earned list, reflecting the different ways that an agency might recognize a receivable as earned (for example, through direct bill commissions received, through premium payable payments issued, through client payments received, or through service fee revenue deferral schedule items posted to the General Ledger).

To sort by any of the columns in the Earned list, click the column heading. Click the column heading again to sort in the reverse order.

Note: If the transaction is attached to the account rather than to a policy or line, the Line column is blank.

Split #: Number of the commission split. If split commissions do not exist on the item, it displays as 1.
Line: The line of business to which the transaction is attached (if transaction was attached at the line level, or attached to a package policy with commission amounts split by line). If the transaction is attached at the policy level with no line splits, this column displays the policy type (for example, CPKG).
Generate: Generate invoice date.
Acctg Month
Trans: Transaction code for the process row.
Trans Amt: Amount for the process row.
Agcy Com Type: Can be % (percentage) or $ (flat fee).
Agcy Com %: Agency commission percentage on the process row. For example, a process row representing credits applied to debits on a premium billed for a policy with 20% agency commission would display 20% in this column. A revenue deferral schedule installment would display 100%, because fees represent 100% agency income.
Partial Com Amt: Amount of agency revenue earned for this process row (product of the Trans Amt and Agcy Com % values).
Unearned Com Amt: Amount of agency revenue that was written off and will not be received.
Full Com Amt (on Earned - Direct Bill, Earned - Payables, and Earned - Receivables views only): Agency commission fully earned based on the direct bill receivable, premium payable, or agency bill receivable being completely paid/closed.
Earned Com Amt (on Earned - Deferred Income view only): Service fee revenue deferral schedule amount posted to the General Ledger.

To add any of these columns to the list, click Select Columns and select the chckboxes for the ones you want to display. You can also click the arrow buttons in the Select Columns window to reorder the columns.

Bk Status
- If the process row is associated to a General Ledger item, this column shows the item's bank reconciliation status as O for outstanding or C for cleared.
Co Pay Status
- This represents the premium payable status per split and can be O (open) or C (closed). If premium payable status does not apply to this process row, nothing displays in the column.

- If the process row is the result of a payment on a reconciliation statement, this column represents the date the General Ledger item associated to the statement was created.
GL Entered By
- If the process row is the result of a payment on a reconciliation statement, this column represents the user who entered the General Ledger item associated to the reconciliation statement.
GL Refer
- If the process row is the result of a payment on a reconciliation statement, this column represents the Refer # of the General Ledger item associated to the reconciliation statement.
GL Type
- If the process row is the result of a payment on a reconciliation statement, this column represents the type of General Ledger item associated to the statement. Possible values are R for receipt, D for disbursement, V for voucher, and J for journal entry.
